Very nice, wear them in good health!
Here's a picture:
Hard to see....
Out of the box without any polishing. Love this shoe, but I haven't really tried to polish it like my walnut strands, which came outof the box nice and polished.
Noob here. I'm looking to buy my first AE, but am unsure which last would suit me. I'm trying to decide between a Strand (last #5) and a Sanford (last #7).
Unfortunately there are no distributors for AE in my country so there's no way to try different models out. I have various Johnston & Murphy's (made in Italy & Mexico models -optimas) that are 8D and those fit me fine.
Any advice you may have would be most appreciated, thank you!
It is an important question especially in your situation, I vary by a full size depending on the model and the width varies as well.
the parkway looks like a norwegian split toe/norwegian front blucher a la alden (the latter of whom seems to do a better job of it overall).
I had a similar experience. on the 5 last, I am a 9 EEE. On the 2 last, a 9 EEE was unbearably and unwearably narrow. The 8 last is tolerable.
Not that easy to focus, here's another:
Put some black polish on it and see if it goes away.
If it doesn't, would they give me a problem with the polish on it?
Wow, nice. My first instinct to the poster asking about McTavish vs. Jefferson was to say McTavish all the way, especially for a casual shoe. I'm still inclined to favor the McTavish, but seeing the Jefferson picture above I feel like it could definitely work as a casual shoe (or polish up with even more shine for a fancier occasion).
I still like the sole and lacing on the McTavish better, as far as casualness goes. Of course, the sole and laces are the two things I can't see in your picture!
No, as long as they are unworn, you will be fine.
Are they firsts or seconds?
If first quality, I would take them back and get a new pair.
Can't you just put some black polish on it? Even if you can't thats not a big deal at all.. I have 2 really dark brown spots on the tongue of my strands but you can't see it when its laced up. Their really is no need to worry about it you can barely see it. Shoes are meant to be worn.. enjoy them
