There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Just some info that I thought was quite interesting. And made me glad that I am able to buy AE shoes/boots in the US.

I was in Stockholm a few days ago (nephew's wedding) and went window shopping for shoes while there. They had quite a selection of shoes at the upscale store I visited and carried many English brands --- Church's, Grenson's, Loake's, etc. as well as some Italian brands as well.

The only US brand they carried were AE. And the walnut calf Dalton boots were the equivalent of about $685!! And we pay what, $375?? Having said that though, everything is really expensive in Sweden.

I've never worn boots before, so I decided to purchase a pair of the Stafford Wingtip Boots from JC Penney today to see how I liked them. Treated them with a bit of AE cleaner/conditioner and Merlot Cream Polish. They look pretty darn good for $60 and are more comfortable than the Strands and Cliftons I have. Looks like the Dalton will be on my Christmas list.

Mine are also starting to crease through the cap toe. I've always been told the crease should be before the cap toe. This seems to be an issue with Neumora's. I've read that on several sites. It's a long cap so it's problematic.

Breaking in the new Broadstreets this week... pic taken with my iPhone so not the greatest quality.
The brown and walnut really do make a nice contrast and seem to go well with a brown pinstripe and even lighter slacks.
The challenge will be in polishing these guys and keeping the brown off the walnut.

Those look great! I don't think I would have enough swagger to wear those on a regular basis. I'm also too vigorous of a shoe polisher to "keep between the lines"[IMG]

As far as quality goes, who makes a better shoe: Allen Edmonds or Grenson?

I did some research on this (I really liked the tan Dylans) and the consensus seems to be Allen Edmonds. Grenson's old collections are supposedly of much higher quality than the current run. Again, just from what I read on here.

These look fantastic, I just went to their website to order them after seeing your photo. It appears that they are only available as white two tones, were these a web gem that is no longer available?

    Thanks for your help.

Yes, these were a web gem from July of this year I believe... they came in brown/walnut calf, black/burgundy calf, and black/brown calf.

    Hey All,
I'm requesting some pics of both the walnut and chocolate daltons in the wild as I'm deciding between the 2. I've always wanted a pair of Chocolates, but I've been hesitant because I already have a pair of dark brown boots. Naturally, the walnut Daltons would be the logical choice for diversity's sake, but the chocolate seems much more versatile (don't think I can wear walnut daltons with dress trousers/ nicer chinos) and classic (who knows how the color walnut will fare in 5 years). Your pics and opinions are greatly appreciated.

^ You might also want to consider the shell burgundy Dalton that they're offering as a webgem right now. #8 or AE burgundy is pretty versatile and would give you some variety.

From left to right, Chocolate Brown (Dalton), Brown Burnish (5th Street), Walnut Cordovan (Dalton), Walnut (Dalton).
The chocolate are actually very dark; almost black. I have treated them with the AE dark brown polish and brown Kiwi wax. You may even be able to get them to darken up further if you use darker shoe polish.
The brown 5th Streets are in the pic for perspective and because the SA made a hat trick of the 5th Street doable last Friday... pics of the black shell and burgundy shell 5ths coming when they get here.
