Edit: After looking at this picture more closely, I'm beginning to think that no one should wear skinny jeans, even the fairer sex. Notice how the excessive taper causes the hips of what I'm sure is a waif-thin model to look wide?

That's one way of putting it. Another way could be that the excessive taper accentuates and brings the attention of one's eye to highlight the attractive feature of the lady's...

In sum, skinny jeans are never the best option for anyone; they simply look less awful on attractive women.

To finish up my saga with AE and they recent run-ins with quality issues on my last 2 pairs of shoes, i would like to give an update. I was contacted by a person from the company, and she was very helpful in helping me sort out my problems. Currently, i have both my pair of shoes back, and i'm content with the end results.

.
I thought some pics were due for the custom order i places of Mora's in navy calf leather. It was a healthy $425 in total, but the shoes look fantastic, and fit a little better than the usual 5 last that i wear. This shoe is a confirmed 8 last, in case anyone needed to gauge fit. Like previously stated, for 10.5 EEE, they look particularity sharp. Now begins the drama of when i should wear then, and for how long :violin:

Awesome looking shoes, and props for choosing last #8.

I have the norwich and it's been a nightmare in terms of comfort. I got them replaced for a smaller size, and now im developing blisters on my left ankle.. I think the leather is cut too high (defect). Gonna go back in tomorrow to get them replaced again.
I just can't tell whether it's cause they're not broken in yet, or if monk straps are just naturally uncomfortable. I remember my park aves have always been comfortable, even during the break-in period..
Thanks for sharing, I've read similar issues online. Quit a few posts mention that the Boston and Norwich are not comfortable, and even cause blisters.

got my strands shined up.

Do you still have leather soles? I'm kind of bummed I put toppy's on mine. Shine looks great!

I like the McTavish in black, but I'm not sure if it goes well with a suit. I might have to try them on in person.

I would have liked the Hancock if it were available in some sort of antiqued finish.

I just received the pair of Katmai chukkas I grabbed during the 40% off Lands' End sale. They're going to make a great beater shoe this winter. One thing though, the nap of the suede is really shaggy. Throw some googly eyes on them, and you could mistake them for a Muppet.

I recently fell in love with AE shoes. Since I know that SF doesnt like to pay full retail on things, where do you get those discounted? Do they have frequent sales?

Search for the allen edmonds super thread in buying and selling. A fellow SF member is selling all models for 230.

Edit: Found it.

The only thing to keep in mind is that it usually takes about 2-3 weeks for shipping.

IMO and experience, AE = Loake 1880 construction wise but AE leather is better and easier to break in. Although some Loake 1880 designs are preferred.
