Its on the 8 last which is slightly tighter on the toe box for me than the 5 (strand, PA, etc). I'd personally size up in width, although I've made due with a 10d (which I also wear in the 5 last)

My apologies. My source was inaccurate then (wikipedia).

    Someone should correct it.

It isn't really wrong, just unclear.

Quote: The phrase "eyelet tabs" does not refer to the metal rings inside the eyelets, but to the larger tabs of leather containing the eyelet holes. Some have metal rings, some don't

I'd really appreciate some help. I really like the Strand but in black. I didn't see it on the tent sale pdf that I was sent so would I contact one of the stores or is there another way of going about it?

What do you think about the Black Cordovan Cambridge then?

I suppose in the worst case scenario I would just get a refund for my MacNeils and buy a pair of Brown PAs or Fifth Aves to add variety to my shoe collection, which currently is just a pair of black PAs, but I do yearn for cordovan shoes ><

Silly question, I'm sure, but what is the "tent sale"? We don't have an actual AE store here in St. Louis, so I'm guessing that might be why I've not heard of it?

So I got my brown cordovan strands from the tent sale yesterday. They're on the left. Next is another recent purchase, the McTavish. On the right is a pair of old Leeds I picked up on eBay. They're on the 8 last instead of the 1, and they resemble basketball leather. I think they're kinda cool.

If you want to get more technical, a balmoral is a type of oxford shoe where there is a seam that goes horizontal across the quarters. A lot of people use oxfords and balmorals interchangeably though like champagne and sparkling wine. Of course, all champagne is sparkling wine, but not all sparkling wine is champagne.
