Umm, no. It takes one who knows which shoes look good with a spit shine and which ones look awful. That shoe looks like someone tried to polish the cap with vaseline.

Anybody have any reports as to how the neumora fits vs the 5 last? I've heard tighter, I've heard looser- no definitive answer yet

    Hi, I'm new here.

I have both McAllister (5 last) and Neumora in 9E. The Neumora seems a little wider, but not enough to justify a different size for me.

    I'd probably go with "Mahagoni"

I'm depressed to say that I may need to part with the malverns. After wearing them for a third time, I'm starting to feel that they are a bit short, which is hard for me to fathom.

Anybody need them in a 10d brogue suede?

    Uh Oh, I'm a 10D.

Can't say I need them but sure want them, however.... Couple of months ago I went to the not so local AE crack dealer shoe store and a pair of brown pebble Malverns came home with me. At the store I thought they fit perfectly but on my second wearing realized the left shoe pinched across the widest part of my foot and they were too narrow so I sent them back. Reading the reviews for the Malvern at the time think I recall someone saying the suede will stretch where as the leather ones did not. Your thoughts on that? I'm a pretty solid 10D in AE for the most part, have 19 in that size mainly 1 and 5 lasts and the black hills in 9.5D. But there are a few AE shoes that I have tried that just don't fit, no matter which way I go in size.

Dammit I'm a 10.5D and reading the Malvern reviews it sounds like they run a little small, is that your experience? Would love to get a pair for cheap but might be throwing money away.

I don't own a pair, but I've tried them on. I'm a perfect fit in a 11.5 D on the 5 last, or at least the Park Avenue, Strand, and Neumok. The 11.5 D Malvern was way too small, and the 12 D was still too small in the front.

I have the Malverns. They do not fit like other shoes on the 1 last. They are shorter and more narrow that the Leeds. I am a TTS 11.5 and had to size up to a 12 to make the Malverns work. I would recommend anyone ordering the Malverns go up either in length or width when ordering.

hard to say. They seemed to fit great out of the box, and almost feel smaller now.

My issue is not so much in width, more so in length. I swear my left foot grew like half a size overnight.

I am selling a pair of Suede Malvern's in 8D if anyone is interested. Picked up the pair during the recent 2fer sale, but I really just wanted the Player's. PM if you want details.

Just got a stock check from Shoebank. Are the shoes labeled Brooks just re-branded AEs into Brooks Brothers? For example, they have listed "Brooks Strand" vs. "Strand" with a $60 price difference. If so, is the quality noticeably different between the two?

Also, what are quality seconds supposed to mean? Returns? New w/ defects?

    Clearly a noob here. Thanks.

Hey all, I ordered some brown Kenilworths from the shoebank as part of the Memorial Day sale and they arrived on Wednesday (ordered Sunday). I have to say, I was impressed with the quality; this was my first time buying seconds, and if this pair is indicative of what to expect from seconds, then I'll be buying more. I really can't find anything wrong with them that would warrant calling them a second, really look first quality to me.

Anyhow, the downside is that I'm getting a fair amount of heel slippage (10.5 D - also a 10.5 D in Cliftons, 108 Last which fit great). I called the shoebank and discussed it with him, and he had some good ideas. His first comment was not to worry so much about fit when comparing lasts, because there are shoes made on the same last that fit completely different. The example he gave was the Park Ave vs. the Kenilworth - same last, but fit totally different, big difference being the number of eyelets. His second comment was to flex the shoe with my hands a few times, said that would help with the heel slip a bit. I did that, and it improved some.

My question - if that doesn't quite work, has anyone had some success with tongue/heel pads? Everything else in the shoe feels great with the exception of the heel. I'm considering going to a 10, but a little wary that I may not get as nice of a pair, and that the rest of the shoe may tighten a bit.

    Any thoughts would be great.

Taking delivery of my Kenilworth seconds today. I ordered my regular park ave/strand size. I ordered a couple of tongue pads just in case from http://www.feetrelief.com/feetrelief/arch_support_accessories.htm . For 42 cents and 50 cents for shipping, its probably worth a try.
