A true definition of a Frankenshoe. Absolutely horrible.
Definitely looks after-market. A monk-strap shoe should not have laces underneath, nor should the strap be made of different leather than the rest of the shoe. Stay far away from this one.
This looks like someone developed a severe case of arthritis and couldn't tie the laces anymore, so they installed those bastardized velcro straps. BIN for $129?
i vomited on my keyboard when I saw it, just wanted to make sure AE did not make a shoe like this.
I love it! I can't stop laughing about those velcro monkstraps/bluchers. Somewhere, somehow, Iroh is behind this and rocking those shoes along with his cordovan died gloves.
Your a 9D in which AE last. #5? And which Alden last do you want and what type of material?
That's just the funniest thing. I love how he's trying to pass that off as a monk strap.
Not all after-market additions are as effective...
The seller looks like one of those people who resells stuff he/she finds from thrift stores or estate sales.
There's a good possibility that he/she doesn't know anything about shoes, or care enough to find out.
haha, that's so ugly, but you got to love the owner's appreciation/loyalty for AE..."If I can't tie them, I'll strap 'em, but no one will take them away from me"
I sent him this message:
This shoe is a joke, right? There is no way that strap is original. You should not be allowed to list the item like this
and received this reply:
You really need to get a life! If you don't like it dont buy it! Dont bother me with your stupidity ... what your the shoe expert. Whether it is or isnt, what do you care care? No life! Worry about stupid stuff... go do something about world hunger. Please get a life!
quite frankly, the dude has a point. Its not like he didn't picture the strap and just gave a description. yes its ugly and yes its cheesy, but that don't make it illegal to sell on ebay...there is plenty of worse stuff on there.
