I don't have to be right... I'm just going on what AE says. Could you be right about the Kenwood? Sure, and I wouldn't be surprised. If you are right I will gladly give you credit, and I would be extremely confused about AE's marketing strategy and customer service department (not about their service as much as about how much their service and marketing departments actually know about their own products).

Maybe you are right and I am wrong and that wouldn't bother me in the least. But someone earlier had a question, and I answered it based on what Allen Edmonds says about the product. Until someone tears one of the shoes down and corrects the error or AE states otherwise, I'm going to have to go with that rather than what you are saying.

Or one of you guys could contact AE Support and ask them, putting the speculation to rest.

    Hi fellas,

I'm leaving on a trip for a little while, and need to pack a pair of dress shoes to go with my suit, and other semi-formal wear.

I currently have a pair of AE Strands, as well as Alden cordovan captoes. Both are black.

Thoughts on which one would be better to pack? I can only pack one. I'll have to store the other.

    Thanks. :)

I would go with the captoes. More formal. Better too dressed than not enough, plus the cordovan will probably be easier to take care of.

[IMG] Brown Shell Cordovan Strand (directly from AE) I think the FSC is calf primary due to the full rubber heel. The AE SC shoes have dovetail heels from JR.

The FSC strand is definitely calf. I just think it's a nice shoe.

Please do post pictures when you get a chance. I am very curious to see a brown cordovan Norwich in the wild. If you have any sizing feedback (versus, say, 5 last) that would also be appreciated.

I see a pair of these Cordovan Strands in my future. The color looks to be a nice variation from the typical burgundy, I like the balmoral and captoe style, and mirabile visu, I can order them in a size and width to suit my foot rather than picking the closest D width... Just a matter of time. Also, any thoughts among the gentlemen here on the 1-511 last (as seen on the Hamptons, for example)? I have developed an interest in higher, rounded toe dress shoes recently and this looks like a nice shape.

Indeed. Looking for a two-toned saddle much like this very one. Details, please.
