1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I wouldn't worry too much about saddleback bags being made in Mexico. That country has a long tradition of excellence in leatherworking.

Im pretty sure they're still there for a reason. Be sure to ask the rep to describe the imperfection before buying!

I've been in loafers for the last few months but yesterday, decided to give the Player's some love.

This is good advice, I remember emailing about a pair of $97 olive Neumoks and the SA called and said they wouldn't sell the pair bc there was some bad stains on it. I appreciated the honesty

Assuming the walnut shell Strands are in good condition with minimal flaws, $297 is a steal!

I am in the same boat... I love my brown shell Strands, but don't wear them too often either. For whatever reason, they appear more "dressy" to me than my wingtips or PTBs so I don't pair them with chinos (which is what I wear at work mainly). I am trying to mix in more dress pants at work so maybe that'll change :)

After saying that yesterday I felt guilty so threw them on today. I am the same in that I am trying to add more trousers to my wardrobe so hopefully they will hit the rotation more often.

The outlet SAs have been really helpful in describing shoe/boot conditions to me. It's frustrating when they refuse to sell something but definitely beats anticipating the delivery all week only to find out you can't wear them and have to deal with a return.

Whoever snags those walnut shells must post pics here!

I've owned the Strands and the Truffle Mcallisters for over a year now and worn the Stands around 10 times and the McAllister maybe 5. I also have a pair of walnut calf McAllisters that have been worn a couple of times in the last year. Sadly balmorals just don't work that well for my wardrobe but I am working on it because I love all three pairs and the 5 last works great for me. The walnut calf McAllister was my first pair of AE or I would probably part with it at this point.

How long does it normally take people to receive 2nds shipped from Port Wash? I placed an order on the 13th and got confirmation they shipped on the 14th (with no tracking number). Enquired about the tracking on the 15th and was told something screwy about transitioning from one system to another, and I'm still waiting. No one seems to be able to tell me if they shipped, if there's a tracking #, and generally it seems like a complete clusterf***. Is it normally this way?

They're probably really busy handing all the returns and exchanges from the tent sale. That location in particular got a ton more business than their systems were designed to handle efficiently. If it makes you feel any better they still haven't processed an exchange of 2nds I sent there that they've had for a bit over two weeks now. Even the firsts I order are taking about a week or so before they ship out.

FedEx usually takes about a week to get to the West Coast from Port Washington. I wouldn't get too worried about it if I were you.

Sorry, my walnut wednesday streak came to an end today... Burnished chili Bleecker Streets today. Same size as 95% of my other AE shoes. Have a little bit of puckering below the laces on both shoes (visible on the right shoe in pics below), but can't complain at all. I'm really happy my favorite SA (Can't say enough good things about Earl at Alabama Leeds store) talked me out of brown and bourbon colors and into these chilis. LOVED the color so much I had to pick up a few more options (Franciscan, Rogue, Carlyle will do for now).

Anyone ever attempted to darken some brown Neumoks? I'm thinking about some light tan polish to mine

Grey Banchory today in the office.

Normally wear them with shorts in lieu of sneakers on weekends.

My father has a pair and loves them. His most worn pair. If you have a higher instep they're perfect.

If they were 1/2 size bigger I would buy them in a heartbeat at that price. Even if they have flaws, you can almost always get them out of shell.

First Ave will have a full size and color run this fall. That's not a terribly good price.

Love the Players. Only selling my pair because it's one width too wide for me and I have very similar tan calf wingtips from Alden that fit better.
