Probably a dumb question that I should already know the answer to, but during the Nordstrom sale does AE only price match the colors that Nordstrom has?

Dalton's in Walnut available at $285 on Amazon for those who don't want to wait for the full Nordstrom sale or would rather order through Amazon:

Not sure if the price matched anything else.

    what looks better

classic wide belt or poplar belt?

im leaning more toward poplar (32mm) since the classic wide belt is 35mm... which seems a little too big

Yes and yes at least IMO. Not a lot of love for black shoes\boots on SF however it is about as classic as you can get. There is even less love for black shell on here but I do like it myself.

Compared to burgundy shell Dundee. These 2 colors are interchangeable in most situations for me. I do grab the burgundy more than the black but that is personal preference.

Black shell with a very light coat of saphir blue (navy) polish and I like the added depth. However I have only done that to my black shell PA's not the Dundee.

yeah I know there's bo love for black but I go out in black all the time and it's usually when I et complimented the most. Black is sleek, sharp looks good on the skin or with dark facial hair. Anyway, I wear black sweaters, thermals, v necks, button ups and have to have a black shoe to go with those .

Can someone post a picture of a pair of football leather shoes (gridiron or duke iirc) next to a pair of the currrent Leeds 2.0 (style 1434 country grain calf) or Dundee 2.0 (style 1514 Brown Grain Calf)? I would like to see how similar or different these actually are.

    Thanks in advance!!

You know, personally I don't wear black because it makes me look (in my wife's words) like a cancer patient. But those are hot. If you sanded the sole edge and made it a medium brown and use some medium brown laces on them, they would rock with jeans hard.

I'm I guess what people call a "fall" person. Basically browns, greens and blues are good on me. Black, grey, reds, not so much.

Are the golf shoes with spikes removed suitable for daily wear?
More specifically, is the First Cut essentially an Elgin? Or are there major differences?

    Thanks!

You mean if ordered w normal sole? Absolutely. The Heritage has, in addition to a Poron sole, seems to have a padded tongue for added comfort.

If you meant simply removing the spikes on a stock pair, you might consider a pair of Street Caps" from the 'bay for about $10.

Hmmm. Just noticed, whilst boning my Kenilworths, that this particular brown cordovan doesn't have the white "pull-up" effect in the rolls and creases that all my other shell shoes (including my brown shell Strands) have. Anyone else have this observation of recent AE shell?

I hear you and agree. I own 5 pair of Dundee's in different shell colors plus 3 pair of Leeds because I feel a PTB fits most situations well so also agree with your selection in footwear.... Besides jeans I have and will wear the Dundee's with a suit or slacks and a jacket especially in the winter, it is very versatile and a great choice.

It would certainly make them more casual and work well for jeans, however it would also take the formality out of them for more formal wear. Sanding the edges of the sole does expose the sole to water damage more than what the factory finish does but I have done it before and am pleased with the results on these MTO cappuccino shell MacNeils. Being a longwing they are by nature casual especially with the exposed brass eyelets.

But I am very careful to avoid standing water as much as possible while wearing them.

Black shoes can go with anything you wear, of course that could just be 20 years of the military talking LOL. It is the chemo that turns some cancer patients skin grey. Found out in January that my youngest son (24) has advanced stage 4 cancer and it has been a hell of a ride since. He is finally recovering from his last round of chemo and infections well enough that I pick him up in the morning and have him at Mayo 10 West at 7 AM for his next round of treatment. Cancer sucks and the treatment is no joy either.

yeah I honestly think the "no black" thing is a old tradition or something. Next time you go out anywhere a wedding, a nice dinner, the mall, a work banquet literally anywhere tons and tons of people wear black! It's the safe choice I bleieve that's why.

Heya CI, your shoes always show AE shell off so well. They should enlist your rotation to sell more product! Not quite sure how you do it.

So sorry to hear about your son. There really are no words. It's so heartbreaking when someone so young gets sick. I lost my Dad to cancer when he was 48 (I was 19), but I can't imagine watching my son go through something like that.

My family and I are sending our warm thoughts, vibes, and wishes your way.

I hate to ask this. My local store doesn't carry much in my size, so I can never try things on.
The 65 last in 13B fits good. The 511 is OK, but slightly short. The Clark Street (108 last) fits good in a 13B.
I'd like to try the 222 last. How does this compare to the 108 or 65?

I'll ask a similar question then so that you're not alone, since I have the same problem. I'm in Canada, so no free shipping either just to make it worse. Shoe stores here either have no AE or only D ;)

I searched a bit on this thread but couldn't seem to decide. I just got my first ever pair of AE shoes on clearance. Fort Collins in Bourbon. They are on the 333 last. I got them in 8EEE.

On the left foot it feels perfect width wise but the shoe is too long (my left is more a 7). On the right it's the correct length but my pinky toe feels cramped in. I can't stretch my toes apart in there, which I like doing and I feel the leather contact. I will try to stretch the shoes a bit, as it all felt fine on the first wear (unless I just didn't feel it because it was all so new lol). Basically I glued some leather onto the shoe tree where the pinky will be so they don't compact over night.

I asked AE via mail which other lasts I could try next time (so I dont need stretching) and they suggested 108 and 65. But I don't think so, so I'm looking for your wisdom.

So given the above I think that an 8EEE on a 65 or 108 would be much too narrow for my right foot, given I read people wear thicker socks for 333s. Their page on lasts leaves me scratching my head a bit.

What last would you suggest would be better for me?

Guys I just bought brand new AE Park Aves (firsts) from the AE store. I have attached pics of some some minor blemishes/imperfections. Am I being too picky if I ask for a replacement? Considering these are firsts I was expecting them to be flawless....[IMG]
