1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Does anyone know if the sale beginning on April 9th will also be happening at the shoe bank / outlets? If so, any details?

Quote:It usually correlates yes. Specifics, can''t help you. Most outlets won't know either till a bit before hand.

10.5 in both and fit well. Usually 10.5C in calf 5-65.

Shell is definitely looser. Could almost do a 10.5A.

What is the leather quality difference between the independence shoes and the timeless/regular shoes?

Are they both using the same tanning methods?

I don't know anything about the methods used, but I will say the Independence leather is noticeably softer on the outside and the lining. It also seems to be a bit thinner?

Just got the most recent AE catalogue in the mail today. Has anyone seen the new "Steen" loafer in person? Looks like it can be a great spring/summer casual loafer. Any feedback would be appreciated.

LOL, I was just on the AE site looking at the colored laces, and I'm thinking there's NFW I'm picking bright orange. I'll be darned, but those look fantastic!

I've got orange laces in my walnut Strands, and I think they look great.

YES!! Just saw it yesterday and tried it on. Its a great looking loafer and very comfortable too. You are correct.....it is a great spring/summer casual loafer. I tried it because I just purchased a pair here on SF in dark chili. It was a blind purchase so I'm glad I was able to try a pair in the size I purchased. I can't wait to get them on my feet. I should have them by Saturday.

It may be a mess, but I think the boxes really class up the joint! ;)

They sent a pair of orange laces with the Rush Streets I received earlier this week.
I'm not yet convinced that orange is going to look good with olive green.

LOL, touché! Valid points, I just don't like it myself as it seems like everyone is doing it now, which makes me not want to. That said, I do have the stock tan laces in both my brown Clark St's and tan McTavishs, and love them..... J

What belt do you wear with them? I agree it's an incredibly comfortable boot, unfortunately going to wear them out of the house for the first time on Tuesday one of the speed hooks pulled right out. But for the few seconds I had the other laced up it was very nice.

Thanks for the info! I will have to get to a store and see it in person - as usual, AE pics not doing the shoes any justice. Looks like a great model though.

Yes it is. As stated I can't wait to get mine. Definitely try a pair. I was lucky because I have to be careful with loafers. My heel is narrow so I usually have to go down a size. These fit perfectly with no heel slippage. But I know your experience could be different. The world of AE :)

Does anyone have a good contact at AE HQ? I have an interesting issue with a gift card that might need a little Columbo work to figure out.

    PM me if you want.

    Thanks.
