I don't care what anyone says, those Sun Valleys are hideous, though they might be better with brown laces. However, this is utilitarian footwear...function over form.

So....I found myself wandering back to Century 21 today. Picked up those burgundy Townleys, brought them to the cash register. They rang up at $57.95. FIFTY SEVEN, NINETY-FIVE.

DAYUM. Now I can proudly participate in Townley Tuesdays! Looking forward to giving them a little TLC before hitting the streets.

I think you mistook the point of my post. I was just saying that the goal of this boot is not to be a fashion statement. They are utilitarian boots and the aesthetics of the design are not as important as the functional use.

What has two thumbs and 33% more shell cordovan than yesterday?

    This guy.

Can't rightly wear them for another month or three, but I'm really excited to find loafers that don't fall right off my feet. SO MUCH WAX BLOOM -- they must've been hanging out in a warehouse for half a decade. Sometimes it's worth being a weird size.

Incidentally, this shoebox has made it through quite a few rounds of price increases...

I got some Brooks Bros. Park Aves. today and they feel a bit tighter than my regular AE Park/Fifth Aves. I'm not sure it's enough of a difference to warrant going up in size or width, though. I'm thinking once they break-in stretch out a bit, they'll be fine, but does anyone here go up in size for the Brooks shoes?
