1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I only experience bloom on two of my cordovan shoes, my RL Lindricks (very minor on one boot) and my Cappuccino McAllisters. The McAllisters are unreal and develop bloom on the quarters of both shoes after only sitting for 1-2 weeks. Basically every time I reach for them they look like this and require some cleaning. They are my most hydrated pair of AE shoes for sure it seems.

So for any of you wanting to see some bloom pics, here you go. These are after about two weeks on the closet.

I had a pair of Gianni's that did it as well and I have a pair of Alden Full-Straps that do it. All of my AE's are good. -Mike

Thanks for sharing - none of my shells have that much bloom!
still, imo bloom-ey shell is miles better than dried out shell (I have one pair of dried-out dundees from AE - and I have to regularly wax/vsc them; would've preferred the bloom lol).

Totally, I am very happy to see the bloom when I pull them out and wish more of my pairs had it.

I'm loving the new McGregor. I already own the RL Sanderson (similar longwing on the 2 last) in both tan and brown, but am so tempted to just snatch up a McGregor in brown, walnut, and chili.

Is anyone interested in a shell Merlot McAllister 11.5B? Could fit a 10D as well!

Essentially the Larchmont with perhaps a thicker wing? The Larchmont has been growing on me more and more - these even more so

Biggest thing for me is this is not on the awful 333 last. The Larchmont has always been a nonstarter for me.

So, McGregor seconds are already at Shoebank for $299. Soon, the firsts will be $259 for 2 weeks. I wonder I they will run a concurrent sale on seconds during the RDA sale. Has AE done this in the past?

Is this creasing normal on my Park Aves? I've only worn them 4 times. I'm concerned because I have no gap between the laces when they are tied up. Maybe I need to move to a narrower width? Opinions please because I have two other brand new shoes on the same last and would go get them exchanged before wearing them.

If you bought them from Nordstrom or AE, I would wear them in and ask for advice and to get re-sized. Exchanging the unworn shoes for the correct size shouldn't be a problem.

If you were sized at Nordstrom, they may even take back your worn parks.

I got caught in the today going to work. I am in NYC so the rain wasn't too bad. I have a pair of Park Avenues - Walnut. I wiped them with a paper towel. It's supposed to stop raining in the afternoon. Should I try to get them polished today, or just let them dry out and when I get home put them in my shoe trees and get them waxed/polished tomorrow?

    Thanks.

Go home, wipe them with a damp cloth, put shoe trees on. Let them dry away from heat. Do your usual shoe care TLC tomorrow.

Temperature has cooled down and fall is almost here. So I picked the MacNeils today.
