go to a store. You can't compare Nike sizes to dress shoes
see picture on post #342..sorry for the duplicate post...carry on....
fyi for those who are interested...Players Shoe wingtip available in walnut color exclusive to Nordstrom stores only....This style typically comes in suede... http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/allen-e...rd-men/3170711?origin=category&resultback=525
I like my AE's. I own the Vernon's, the Manhattans and the Evanstons.
Although, I can say my favorite shoes are my new borgiolis
The Fall 2011 catalog has dropped:
After my first quick digital flip-through,
-The Walden beefroll penny loafer is now offered in burgundy shell cordovan. Only other I've seen is made by Carmina (PG has a pair).
-Still no Mora (custom only, $450). But they released a dressier version of the Lubbock, the Norwich, to supplement the other single monk, the Boston
-Independence collection is kinda underwhelming, although I really wasn't sure what I was expecting.
-Every new addition to the Rough collection is ugly as hell, coming from a guy who loved the first three from Spring '11.
-The Fifth Street has arrived! AND THEY ADDED A MEDALLION. I think it throws the boot off, would've been better with just a brogued captoe.
Man, I sound like I'm complaining a lot.
Anyone care to help me out with a sizing question?
I'm a 13E in the 5 last, with a bit of room length wise. Chances I could fit into a 13D in the 2 last? (The Lombard is on sale for a great deal...)
This is what I'm assuming, but I'll be able to confirm this for you tomorrow. I'm a 9E on the 5 last and ordered a 9D on the Lombard, which arrives tomorrow.
where to kop reasonable price walnut belt to match players shoes?
AE sells a nice walnut belt
Thanks for posting.
The Independence collection is OK; you have to remember that at the top end price point they are shooting for conservative. They're assuming that most who can afford to pay the higher price is going to be older.
It looks like their AE collection has sold well. I really hope they don't go the way of J&M and start cheapening the entire brand to cater to the lower price sector. It's a good sign that they are clearly stating that these shoes are made in the DR (and kudos to them for giving that information). Hopefully they will manage this well and not compromise the mainline quality.
This shoe is freakin' awesome.
Does anyone know which shoe the RL Sanderson is based on? I have the Sanderson in suede; is it the Players in disguise?
I'm able to get the Players walnut for $200. I don't need it but (WANT IT) am tempted by the fact that the walnut is exclusive to Nordstrom and not sure if I'll be able to get them for this good of a deal again
The Player's Shoe. Well done Allen Edmonds, well done.
Anybody own the Player's Shoe?
great deal b/c of it's exclusive design for Nordy. I have to wait until Dec 26 for the next sale...
