The Kenwood (second pair) has a nicer beef roll and the overall styling is more classic. They would get my vote in Burgundy.

+1

I also prefer the color of the Kenwood, though I'm not sure if it's just the particular picture. The beef roll adds a more youthful appearance, which I like.

would it be acceptable to wear black Van Ness AEs with a navy blue suit in an interview setting?

I had some AE rimini that would get marked on the toe when you walk because the leather was too soft and would run off the end of the sole. I took them to Allen Edmonds and they let me switch them for shoes of equal value or pay the difference.

Big Time PSA

Nordstrom has AE Lombards are on sale. Normally $285 now only $139.

Does have rubber sole and not a leather one. But still a good looking shoe.

Link to Sale
Endless also has the Lombard on sale for $138 and quite a few sizes available. I just grabbed a pair. http://www.endless.com/Allen-Edmond...evance-fs-rank&keywords=allen+edmonds+lombard

 for the link... perfect timing too, I just got back to the states 2 days ago!
Huge +1 Really appreciate the PSA. I ordered the 2nd last pair in my size in walnut not too long ago. Looking forward to receiving them.

Yeah, I have the Riminis as well. The leather finish is completely gone on a narrow strip on the toe box (right in the front). I've only worn them like 4 times. Once to work and the other couple times to church. I'll have to send AE a message. Other than that, I like my West Chesters. They hold up well.

I recently picked up the Players in Walnut Calf from Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale for $199. I really dig the last. It's not as frumpy as 5 last. :hide: Now who knows where I can score the Players in suede on sale?

The 5 last is on the long and narrow side. Why would you call it "frumpy"?

IMO the transition from the vamp to the toe box is awkward on the 5 last. It tapers too quickly. On the Players shoe (2 last I think??) the taper is more elongated and thus more elegant IMO. It's very subtle, but I think I prefer the 2 to the 5.

Question to all the AE lovers. Im looking to buy my forst pair, maube.the strands in walnut, my question is how does the.sizing run? I am usually 9.5 in everything, my clarks and nike's are 9.5, should I stay with a 9.5 or drop half size down? I ask because I am purchasing online any input would be appreciated
