I'm interested in this answer to this question as well.

Also, I'm jealous. I think I probably would have bought at least 5-10 pairs over the last few months if I had the $$$.

    ---

What do you guys think of these? What would be the most you're willing to pay for 'em?

If you're tying a Balmoral, where you want it to lace completely closed, you can use the European Straight Lacing method, which doesn't require even numbers. It also has the advantage of being much, much easier to tighten. But it's a bit odd looking if you can't lace the shoe all the way closed.

Where do they typically sell them?

Call the Shoe Bank at (262) 284-7158. Give them your size and width and email address. They will send you a list of everything they currently have, which will include all outlets nationwide. Then call them back and tell them what you want. Give them a credit card number and they'll do the rest. Shipping is free both ways but returns carry a $10 restocking fee.

Pulled the trigger on a pair of tan Eagle County boots. Have wanted them for a long time but couldn't justify spending that much . . . but $129 for seconds is great. Hopefully not too flawed.

People on here seem to hate the white sole, but I'm looking for casual boots and the white sole is exactly what I want.

Apologies for the n00b question, but I'm suffering from information overload:

    Shoe care for new AEs:
    1. Conditioner
    2. Cream polish
    3. Wax polish

    Anything else?

It really depends what kind of shoes youre getting.

General rule/ basic items is :

    Suede/nubucks/roughouts : spray protector + suede brush
Heavier leather/boots you want to beat up (CXL/Long branch, etc) : Obenauf
Dress shoes : conditionner and cleaner + cream polish + optionnal wax polish + horsehair brush

Wax is only if you want to go for a big shine, be careful with it as it dries the leather.

$99 sale has been confirmed but with the caveat that all sales are final.

Put my order in for four pairs. :)

Did I lace my Kenilworths properly? I can't bar lace them (odd eyelets), and I'm not sure I'd want to even if I could because they are derby shoes.

Also, are pique cotton socks OK with a suit? I find them much more comfortable than wool.

Thanks for the follow-up. I guess for $99 AE's, you can't be picky about even a noticeable defect. It's a roll of the dice, but at that price....Are the BB and RL shoes $99?

Called J'Ville and confirmed that Saunders will not be discounted beyond the $149 price, even though it is a closeout. Is that a good price for suede boots? My Clarks Desert Boots are possibly the most uncomfortable shoes on the planet, looking to upgrade to something with a real sole.
