I may just have gotten luck but last Thursday I used the $35 off at the AE store in Minneapolis for the 5th Street and Malvern which were on clearance for $199. Could be the difference between a sale item and clearance item also.

I pushed hard to get the $35 off for my Fifth streets, but the manager on duty and another one they referred to were adamant that I could not. The sales associate was trying to help me out to see if she could get it applied, but the manager came over wondering why it took her so long to ring me up.

I've heard different versions of what is and what is not included. I wouldn't be surprised if it's up to the interpretation of the individual sales associate. There doesn't seem to be an official form to fill out or anything. In fact, you can order online with a promise to donate shoes later, under the honor system.

I have the snuff suede Players and really like them. They are one of the most comfortable shoes I have. They are essentially the Lombard without the rubber sole - but I'm thinking the suede is so much softer that the Players is much more comfortable than the Lombards I have.

I would think the Players in white, sand, or navy would be great for a summer shoe. My snuff suede is a bit too dark for summer wear in my opinion. The Players style would work with just about anything - but I personally wouldn't do suede with a suit.

I think the $35 off for donating shoes ended on the 4th of March.

The Weybridge is definitely on my list. Any real life pictures you can share?

    Thanks!

Can you comment on the fit of the Players Shoe as compared to the #5 last or another AE last?

The Players have a very pointy toe. You'll either wear the same size or possibly size up half a size.

I was able to use this for a pair of 5th Street boots when they were $199 as well. Guess it depends on who you talk to.

I have my Fifth St. Boots on today for the first time and they are the most comfortable fitting shoe\boot I have had on in a long time. Most of my AE shoes are on the 1 last and fit very well which is why I've stuck to the #1 last but these things feel absolutely great. For those that have the 5th street boots and other shoes on the 5 last is the fit about the same between the 5th St. boot and the shoes on the 5 last?

dsmivtr I'm still liking the job you did on those, a lot! And are a big part of the reason I purchased mine. I didn't even remember they were on the 5 last till your post above.

Here is a link as to how I re-dyed them: http://www.styleforum.net/t/141581/allen-edmonds-appreciation-thread/2655#post_5200618

You should check out the thread started by Ron Rider because it gives a nice step-by-step (with pictures) of how he does it (and his work is amazing).

Cold Iron: Glad to hear they are working for you! Lucky you got your much cheaper since I bought them when they first came out and I believe I paid $300 (they had a slight discount from their Independence sale).

I have the Players in the same size as my 5 last AE's. The Players fit very similar to the 5 last in my opinion.

I found the players to be shorter and narrower in the toe box than my #5 lasted kenilworth bluchers. I really hoped the Players in 11D would fit the same as my 11D kenilworth but it didn't work for me. My feet are slightly wide and have a high instep/high volume for reference.
