You can dress them up for work too depending on what they are. They are some fits posted on the WAYWRN thread of posters with suits and suede shoes that look amazing.

If there's excess polish it'll come off, sure.

What kind of pants do you pair with these, jeans, chinos? If dress pants, what color works best?

    Thanks!

I have a pair of 9.5E Strands that fit well at the heel, but just a bit restricting on the toes and front half, like barely any room for toes to move. Should I get 9.5EE in the McAllister? I think that would give me enough toe width but dunno if thatll introduce heel slip. any insight appreciated.

Jeans and chinos both work with the bitter chocolate suede. Shades of red and orange (wine, manzanilla, burnt umber) work particularly well. Haven't tried with my flannels, but I think darker grays would look ok. They match nicely with blue and navy, but I can also dress them up with an olive suit. Very versatile. The color is quite rich in person.

Yeah. After doing some conversions, I guess Carmina's shells just worth it so much for the price.

Can we ask for customization? I've always love a pair of shell wholecut with a Norwegian welt that can part-take weather wear as well. Here in WA state, rain is a constant pain.

And I almost forgot... Shipping fees. How would that be like? I'm like, totally numbed and could go nuts when it comes to shipping. International shipping would be such a pain...

I'd like to throw out there that I am not sure where carmina gets their shell, but I don't think it's horween. Additionally I sometimes think sleek euro lasts are a bit counter to shell's more rugged nature. Just some food for thought. YMMV

In letting these maniacs know that Carmina shell is the same price as AE shell, I think you just opened Pandora's box. Things will never be the same again.

Carmina uses Horween shell. You're thinking of Meermin, which gets their shell elsewhere.

Soller, Oscar and Detroit are nice round lasts.

This is a bizarre question, but how shiny is the hardward on the mora's? Are the buckle's shiny? It looks like they're pretty matte from pictures, but I wanted to check. I've seen some monkstraps with brass/silver hardware that's quite shiny and it looks tacky and cheap to me!

Carmina gets navy and cognac shell from Horween? Interesting.

Is it trye that Trickers refuses to source shell from Horween because it's of unreliable quality? I'm pretty sure I read that here on SF.

Veering dangerously off-topic here, tho. I would buy a navy shell webgem from AE in a second...

Lol. When I first figured that out, I was quite surprised. To me, though, AE and Carmina are different animals - each has their place.

I did heard of that somewhere, but not due to reliability, but due to the lack of color spectrum they want.

Or maybe they just have an anti-American heart....

Me too. AE better get its act together!

One more fun comparison - left is Carmina navy shell, right is Rancourt navy shell:

    And now, back to AE . . . ?

Well guys like Carmina had deeper relationship track-down with Horween, so I guess their reputation allows more accommodation and thus allow them to customize their order. Without sufficient knowledges, I bet nobody is willing enough to dye Shell Cordovan on their own.
