Okay so someone covered the Independence lining, but can anyone comment on Independence insole pad? I wasn't 100% clear on whether that's something people normally get, but I got it. However, my invoice lists it and it says "OK'd by customer," and now I'm concerned I made a stupid choice and I shouldn't have. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Edit: I asked AE CS and this was the response. It sounds like it's a good thing, but still concerned why specifically noted that I OK'd it. Do other MTO people not get this?

Yep, that's what I was thinking. Currently checking out the Bourbon. Going to get an update later today if they can locate one in my size.

    Thanks again,

    Eric

I had nothing but positives to say about my walnut shell daltons and the AE calf models I own. I have had poor experiences with my look at the cambridge and the norwich I ordered. Not sure what's so inappropriate for reporting bad experiences with AE shell here. I suppose the bar had been set a little too high by the other American-made option from New England. [IMG] There are certainly some good looking AE shells out there on this thread, in particular many belonging to you, GOP. I thought you GOP-types were all about the high standards that competition in the free market produces. [IMG]

JK my friends... enjoy and wear in great health.

I was told that I need to get the independence insole if I get the lining. I got it as well.

    mdubs,

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated. You helped clear up a lot. Are there any structural differences between the different types in terms of quality or something else? Or are they just used for cosmetic purposes?

Every time I see that pic over the last few days I get a really strong urge to order a pair of Dundees in black shell

I'm sure we could trace the large spike in cappuccino Leeds order to the day you posted pictures of yours.

My brown / navy mesh Strawfuts fit the same as my McAllisters. - but more comfortable as the mesh is very forgiving. If you are looking at the linen Strawfut, they are fully lined, so I would think they would fit the same as a McAllister.

Thanks. I'm looking at Mesh. The only reason I ask is my McAllisters fit perfect but with thinner socks my right foot laces basically close. I'll probably take a shot at them though as I can always return them if they don't.

I tried a BB 5th ave once that felt bigger. That's why I asked

Awesome. My Walnut Clifton's are my favorite shoes I own. I love the Chili color too.
