I called her a few days ago at 6128. Do they both go to her?
Interesting, I copied it out of her email signature.
6128 is what I call (just checked phone)
I think its up to you. Do you want exact matching or natural. I might lean toward transparent brown/chili but I'm more conservative. It's hard to tell with what they come with but it might be a transparent brown.
They do look nice!
New long branch, really enjoying these
Just confirmed that they both go to her. Called her to place an order for my MTO Strands in brown cordovan with independence lining, wheeled edges, chili welt, transparent light brown edge, single JR sole. Can't wait.
Quote:Awesome! For how much?
The the nearest store that carries AE is Nordstroms and is an hour away. I'm currently working 2 full time jobs so it is not really practical to go there right now just to get fitted and order them online for a much better price. Many people have said the AE's typically run a little big depending on the last.
The only other oxfords I own are 2 pairs of Rockports in a 10D and they fit well. (Same shoe 1 black 1 brown) Don't judge, I was able to pick them up for $40.00 total for the both of them so I jumped on the opportunity.
I'm wondering if I should just order in a 9.5D or stick with what's typical and purchase the 10D.
I'm a high school teacher, I rarely wear a suit, but will sometimes wear an odd jacket or a blazer. Typically I wear slacks and dress shirt to work so I'm looking for something nice that is not too formal. I'm 28, slim, but athletic. I was thinking about the Kenilworth or another plain toe but I'll take other suggestions??
I have no problem returning the pair and exchanging them for a different size, but I'd like to make the most educated decision first to lessen the chance of requiring an exchange.
^ Typically you want to order a half size down from what you wear in department store shoes. This may help: Size & Fit Guide
I say "may" because I used it when I ordered my first pair and ended up with half size too big.
In your situation I would go with the McTavish, but that's just a matter of taste. It is certainly nice without being formal.
And if you do go with the McTavish, you may need to go even smaller. Not saying it will be the same for you, but people generally go a half size smaller for that shoe than other 5 last shoes.
Same as the current sale price on shells, $505.75 + tax
