I want a dark brown (bourbon?) boot that is as casual as can be - would be great with jeans or chinos for work.
So far I've been looking at the AE Dalton, Portland, and Fifth Street boots.
So far I'm really liking the look of the Portland. Any suggestions?
For your purpose, I'd get the Dalton or Portland
You might be able to score a Dalton 2nd in your size starting tomorrow. The Rediscover America 2nds sale price is $199. A great deal on a fantastic boot. I have them in bourbon and love them.
I'd stay away from the Fifth Street as a casual shoe because it is not a blucher. Bluchers tend to be better for jeans or chinos.
Please do. Looking for Kenilworth pricing specifically.
Search back for posts and pics of my Portlands. Love and recommend them. Much depends on your environment. Where I lve and work, any brogueing is considered 'fancy', rather than casual. My walnut Strands get far more curious stares than compliments. The Portland boots strike the perfect balance for me and fit the bill for what you describe.
I believe it's 179 for black only (kennilworth)
Oh, too bad it's black only. Thanks!
I agree with this. I have the Fifth Street and use it solely with suits. I am likely going to buy a pair of Daltons (debating on the color), but I will wear them with suits and blazers. I know many wear Daltons with jeans, etc., but they seem to be dressy enough for suits. The Portlands meets your described needs best.
I know it's all personal preference, but I don't find the Dalton to be a good match for suits. They're too clunky and casual, in my opinion.
Brown calf strand + brown calf kenilworth
Brown Shell strand
Help me decide.

Burgundy shell Bradley
I know, aside from which color, another reason i'm hesitating is I'm not sure I'd wear them that much. I wear a suit almost every day, and I have #8 and cigar LWB for sport coat days. But, I do like them. I'd have to wear them with a suit.
