1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    These are sweet summer kicks
    [IMG]
    sizing problem though
    [IMG]
nice details on the bologna hidden channel stitched soles
    [IMG]
even the asterisk on the heel. I don't see it on any of my other shoes.
But... sized down a half size, and it still feels like it might me .5 - 1.0 size too big, if I rock without socks. The back of shoe shot shows room in left (smallest) foot, after pushing to the front. Any way I could add an insole, pads or something... anything to keep these since there aren't any more in my size?

...I feel like Ricardo Montalban in these.
(Trivia question: What was Ricardo Montalban's famous catch phrase from his popular network TV series?)

I can see all sorts of summer outings with these on, too.

On second thought they are going back. Shiny scuffs in the suede. Sloppy and uneven stitching and frayed edges on the panels from sloppy cutting of the leather. Scratches in welt from the grinder they use on the heel. Footbed set unevenly in the shoe. Just terrible.

    Welcome...to Fantasy Island!

He also introduced North America to fine Corinthian leather in the Chrysler Cordova. Luckily, that's not what your summer shoes are made from!

    You are CORRECT, sir![IMG]

He made Chrysler sound cool back then... Ah, the Cordo-o-o-o-v-a-a-a-h-h... Sounds a lot like shoes we buy and show off here...

Thank you, Ricardo, for that and your portrayal of Khan.[IMG]

The suede on the toe was a real dark brown but the rest was sort of washed out looking. Never had so many defects in one pair of AE"s before. They are already back at the post office so I can get a refund. Pretty atrocious actually.

Okay, that is it! I am start an AE MTO thread to provide the background information and the basic information with more details on pricing, etc. while you spin up your Website.

Yes, Paul Grangaard, offered on this thread to make any shoe (past or present design of which they still have the last/pattern for) with any leather(s) with any lining/sole with no custom made or MTO fee. You simply need to contact our POC, Allison (ameyer@allenedmonds.com / (262) 235-6428) and mention StyleForum/this thread.

The price of the shoes are typically just the price that they would normally charge for the shoe based upon the type of leather that you so choose (calf would be standard price, standard price increase for Shell Cordovan, etc.)

    Hope that helps!

    -Mike

FYI Vernon's can be had for $190 shipped through Amazon right now. I don't know how popular they are, but seems like a good price for firsts. Around the same with Hanovers too.

Picked up a pair of new snuff suede Neumok wingtips and matching belt. These are my first pair of suede shoes and now I am wondering why I waited so long to add suede to my lineup. ;-)
