1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Are brown shell Jeffersons too formal to pull off with jeans?

You are literally the third person to ask this exact question (owning the same shoes, even) in the past couple days. So, check back a few pages for more suggestions, too.

EDIT: I see I'm not the only one to notice this pattern. I don't think it's anything nefarious. Everyone starts with PAs and Strands.

Anyone else notice that sizes are showing up on the clearance site but they can't be added to cart?

edit: just realized they updated their stock pretty much wiping out everything in my size

Ugh that sale is going to have my wife kicking my butt lol picked up three pairs of shoes....

Blue Suede Strandmonks (casual friday should be interesting)
Crack Brown McTavish Wingtip Oxfords (another good casual shoe)
Grey Parkway Dress Shoes (needed a good grey shoe to mix up the black)

Will round out my collection pretty good.

those are the two highest selling shoes that AE makes. Also, they're the only two shoes that AAFES sells. So I'd decided to start with $215 firsts as test shoes.

Well I didn't get a call back from the store so I guess it's safe to assume that they didn't have any.

Not all are, I just get sick of trying to find things through hundreds of photos of shoes. It wasn't directed at anyone

    I'm just kidding around.

I'm actually quite partial to crazy socks, and own several pairs that are very probably quite ridiculous.

Just did a little clean up, and I thought I would post my first pictures of part of my collection. Been wearing nothing but boots due to the weather, so I was cleaning them up. This is my AE boot collection (Waiting on a MTO eagle county currently). The Walnut Daltons have been babied for the most part, only seeing wear when its not that bad out. The Long branch and the Shells though, have been routinely (1-3 times a week) been worn in calf deep snow, at temperatures reaching below -35C/-31F at times, sometimes back to back days. iPhone pics don't do these justice, but its the best ive got. In person, the shells look "wet," and glass-like, despite repeated exposure to inclement weather. Don't worry about your shells people, just wear them.

Took my Walnut Shell Chukkas out on their first voyage today. I tried to capture them from multiple angles and different vantage points, as someone requested to see Chukkas from a view other than just straight down... Hope that these capture what you are looking for.

Borderline. Shell blucher gunboat is preferred.

    Gorgeous!

I wear mine with dark jeans. What I would call dress jeans, no roughness or tattering to them. Jeans you'd buy at Brooks Brothers. They are great when worn with an oxford and blazer.

For the guys that wear EEE width: has going up half a size in length, and down to a D width ever worked out for you? Like for example, would a 10.5EEE fit the same as a 11D?

    Thanks

In my experience, no. I wear EEE width, and I still need the EEE when I go up a size.

    No.

But...going up 1/2 a size and down to a single E width can work in some shoes.

Also, for some of the more classic models AE makes a EE width. I've personally not tried any in this size, but could be an option.
