    Agree. Single sole works with flat welt. And this example really looks good by the way. I thought you were going to choose split reverse, that's why I made a comment that the double sole would make the proportion better. Good luck.

    lol, no worries. I do find the uncle/nephew thing to be very creepy, to put it lightly.

    haha...I see your point. I don't ever see a time where AE and Alden won't be compared/contrasted.

    I've decided on all of the other details of my MTO outside of the sole/welt. It's between a double butyl sole w/ split reverse, a single butyl sole w/ split reverse (think Neumok's), or a single butyl sole w/ flat welt.

    Each has a place in my rotation. I appreciate them both for what they do well. I don't see it as one being definitively superior to the other. Each is different enough IMO to justify owning both.

    Check my pics earlier in this thread. I have a pair of Niles in brown.

    This was posted in the past day or two.

    Anyone have any idea how Parks, Fifths, and Strands fit relative to the sizing guide?

    I think the discount is typically 14.92%.

    Which would make the shoes that always come in brown cordovan cheaper than the webgem. If you want the Jefferson though it's the webgem or nothing I believe.

    For those of you that might own two of the same model shoe, one in calfskin & one in shell, do you change the size? I know that with shell versions tend to be a bit roomier, but is it enough to warrant a size change?

    {apologies for all of the questions lately}
