15% off all AE products on 9/30? Nice. Might be a good time to stock up on some shoe care supplies.
I believe the only reason the sock liner is in there is because it has a dainite sole. I was working with Allison on my MTO and asked about adding a Dainite sole. She said it wouldn't be a problem, but if I went with any full rubber sole the leather sock liner would be necessary. She really didn't explain why, but I think only rubber soled shoes will have this liner.
Thanks for the info. Was really looking for some 3-last options other than the Franciscan. Good sale nonetheless for those who need staples such as the fifth ave and delray
Interesting that there seems to be some different ones, but it sounds like they all have the traditional insole with a sock liner, which I'm ok with.
By any chance, was the sock liner in the pair you saw more like the one in the Patriot (see below)? Enlarge the picture, and you can see the angled cut just behind the tongue:
It may have something to do with the way the heels are attached (requiring nails). However, that doesn't quite make sense to me either, given that the Patriot (as I mentioned above) has a sock liner.
Yes, I would say it looked just like that.
Yea. I guess I should have asked her to explain further, but since I decided against the Dainite I didn't want to waste her time. What she said was:
"putting a rubber sole on will cause us to have to put a heel pad with a leather sock liner in the insole"
I think the key wording here is "heel pad".
Brown/brown grain Hamptons. Wish they were lighter in color, any recommendations as to how I can achieve this?
I suspect is is an issue of protecting your heel from nails then.
I think the sock liner in the Patriot looks a lot nicer than the one pictured in the Suede Strand above. The one in the Patriot looks much more refined, in my opinion.
Hi Fellas! This is a PSA for some Allen Edmonds Belts at Sierra Trading Post.
They end up being $23.37/ea! Limited Sizes
You do have to have their Key Code from today: EB091013B
If you download their app for your phone they'll treat you to Free Shipping.
Great deal. $35 shipping to Canada completely negates it, however.
Thank you. Just a heads up, there is no belts in a 34. Also, as above, shipping to Canada is insane.
I was also looking for 34...oh well.
Just made my first (two) Allen Edmonds orders! Needed a versatile pair of dress shoes but something casual enough to wear with denim and was lucky enough to pick up the Townley's in brown cordovan in my size for $299. It was my first time looking at the list in my size and saw the Ralph Lauren Saunders in snuff suede (I've been eyeing a suede chukka for a few months now) and after a call back this morning, Jeffersonville found a pair in their store and honored the 50% off price from a week ago!
These are my first two pairs of real premium quality shoes (other than my 1Ks) so I better run far, far away from this thread before I go bankrupt
