I did try the 7.5Es but they were too loose. My ankles are the bearer of my chicken leg syndrome haha.

I guess its good to know if they wont loosen up too much. That means I could keep my strands without too much worry even though they are slightly long.

Out at the moments, but I will take a picture when I get home... But bespoken is correct Ravello tends to have more red in it...

I wonder what the Navy ones would look like if they had the crap removed with RenoMat? Just an idea....

My new Allen Edmonds' Brown and White Gatsbys have arrived. They are, in all modesty, Great. The fit and feel are excellent.

Alden Ravello... (I should add, though, that this particular ravello is a little darker and has a smidge more red undertones than most batches of Alden ravello.)

    AE Walnut...

    Alden whiskey...

To me AE's walnut looks more like some of the older batches of ravello, or an aged Alden whiskey (it darkens nicely over time and with exposure to sunlight).

Here are my comparison pictures that I promised. Repp did a good job of summarizing it, but in mine, Ravello and the Walnut Shell look VERY similar... Taken in both natural light and direct sun. I have included the widest variety that I could... I have more Ravello coming in later this month sometime.

Comparison lineup (from left to right): Alden Cigar LHS, Crocket and Jones (for Ralph Lauren) Brown Cordovan Marlow Wingtips, Allen Edmonds Walnut Shell Cordovan, Alden Ravello NSTs, Alden Whiskey LWB. First picture hopefully sets the overall scene for you.

Same lineup, but this time from an angle. In natural light, but not direct sun, my Ravello looks darker than the Walnut Shell.

Here is just the Walnut and Ravello in direct sun light (Walnut Shell left, Ravello Shell right). In direct sun, they look much closer to one another.

Here is a closeup in direct sun (Walnut Shell left, Ravello Shell right).

Hope that this helps. But as you can see from my post versus Repp's, the colors vary quite a bit within any tone (most of the Dalton's in Walnut Shell that I have seen are a bit darker than my Strands).

Thank you patrick_b. I hope to score more AE (or Alden) shell. The brown shell Leeds a few pages back are outstanding! I think I may prefer the cappucino shell though. Alden shell is just too hard to find these days (outside of black and color 8).

Those rubber toe taps look extremely sleek compared to the typical ones you see (the ones with 3 nails in them). What are these called and where do you get them? Also, if you could post a pic that shows the toe tap, that would be great. Thanks!

Thank you Repp, unfortunately, that's only a fraction of it...
