The new rack looks awesome! I agree that the plastic/metal stands that are commonly available are crap. The rack you have looks like it could be extended vertically, if needed. Would you mind sharing the cost, and the split between labor and wood? Also, do you only wear boots? I don't see any shoes in the pic
thanks for the referral to A Shine and Co - I was just wondering if there were any less expensive options to Renomat, so this is the next best thing
I impulsed an order of renomat and a reup of saphir tonight with them.
Thanks, are you saying that the sanderson was too narrow, or that the Saunders boot was too narrow vs the Sanderson?
Any other opinions on how the Saunders boot fits vs the slaton or sanderson?
Is renomat something that should be used often on a single pair of shoes?
I thought it was a one time thing, used for when you first get the shoes.
Renomat is definitely not something you want to use often. I believe the box recommends that you use it once or twice a year at most. It is effective at stripping away buildup of wax, and color paste.
And not to be confused with Renovateur, the conditioner.
renoMAT will get a once over on a couple pair of shell that I use/abuse a bit more.
renovateur gets used more frequently, mainly to recondition.
I will admit I grabbed a bottle of leather honey from the back of the closet for some CXL and was quite impressed with the results on some beat up alden 403s
Asking this question again. Any ideas?
With the sale going on I can get the Daltons in chocolate for $199 or in shell for roughly double that. Is it worth it?
I have lots of shoes on the 5 last in 12D. I have 3 pairs of Daltons, all size 12D. I have no wrinkling on the wing, just in the right spot. In the summer I wear normal dress socks, and must admit they are a bit loose, but in the fall and winter I wear thicker socks, and they fit perfectly. By the way, I am very happy with the Dalton, I have a pair of black Daltons on order. Can't wait. I would pull that trigger, you won't be disappointed.
Seeing the Dalton on the list of seconds in a color other than walnut is odd. I would be all over those chocolates for $199. I got the list yesterday and they only have walnut in my size. Also, I picked up a pair of burgundy shell Daltons a couple months back for I think around $360. Not bad for a retail $699 boot. I would say anything under $400 for a second in a shell Dalton boot is a great price. If you can swing it, I would get on both of those.
Thank you for doing this Pastor!
I agree with this. Most of my shoes and boots have never seen Renomat. And when I do I don't let it sit for the full 15 minutes that the bottle say, maybe 5 at the most then follow it up right away with Renovateur.
Your cedar boot rack turned out very well with good spacing and room for air flow. Nice job!
