In addition to the link above it looks like you would benefit from watching their production video:

I've never read anywhere that the type of horse matters.

    First off those are beautiful.

But my question is, those trees almost look like they are lasted trees...The back quarter fill is full! Plus the inscriptions on the trees with the model label is nice.
I wonder if how we can purchase those for our AE's [IMG]

I didn't pay much attention to the trees, haha! They do look rather nice though. Next time i'm there I'll pull a tree out and have a look!

The only regular AE stores (non-outlets) I've been in are in DC and New Orleans. If I remember correctly, those aren't actually real shoe trees. They have a wooden heel, but the forepart was a triangular piece of foam.

I am sure this has been discussed here gazillion times before, but if someone could help with getting the right size in the Strands, I will be grateful. So I wear 9E on a five last, but all my shoes on that last--the Neumok and the McTavish--are from the rough collection. I wear 9.5D in most other lasts, except for last 4 (9.5E) and 7 (10D). I got Strands in 9E and the fit is pretty tight. It's not as tight so that they would be impossible to wear, but it's certainly less comfortable than how I'd want them to fit.

What's your experience with the fit of the Strands? Should I try to break them; stretch them a bit or just return them?

    I'd be very surprised.

The Park Avenue comes in eighteen lengths (half sizes 6 to 13, 14, 15, 16) coupled with nine widths (AAA, AA, A, B, C, D, E, EE, EEE).

Not every width is available in every size, but a quick review of all combinations available on their website means we're still talking 108 distinct sizes.

That's just on the 5 last. They have thirteen available goodyear-welted lasts.

If we apply these to lasted shoe trees, it looks like a nightmare of SKUs. I'm not a product manager but I don't see it happening.

I have a feeling that they could do it. They own the factory so they certainly could do it.

It'd be nice if they came in MTO shoes automatically. That'd be killer. Obviously they could sell them online too at a premium price of course.

I'm sure they "could" do it, but I wonder what the return would be for them. I don't think 100 SF members is enough of their clientele to justify. NOW AE trees in MTO shoes would be awesome!!!!

I think that if they did make lasted trees, it would have to be on a strictly MTO basis, either with MTO shoes or sold separately. As random-adam pointed out, it wouldn't be practical for AE to keep hundreds of different sizes for a niche item.

Yeah, I was quite surprised and pretty thankful. Like I said, the Norwich is pretty underrated, in my opinon.

I saw those in store as well. I was tempted to just return mine and get the shell, but I just bought a sofa, so probably wise not to go for the shell....yet [IMG]

I was surprised as well. I prefer it, but definitely different. I can't remember if my black Norwich had the dove tail heel as well.
