There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Yeah, I have the Riminis as well. The leather finish is completely gone on a narrow strip on the toe box (right in the front). I've only worn them like 4 times. Once to work and the other couple times to church. I'll have to send AE a message. Other than that, I like my West Chesters. They hold up well.

I recently picked up the Players in Walnut Calf from Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale for $199. I really dig the last. It's not as frumpy as 5 last. :hide: Now who knows where I can score the Players in suede on sale?

The 5 last is on the long and narrow side. Why would you call it "frumpy"?

IMO the transition from the vamp to the toe box is awkward on the 5 last. It tapers too quickly. On the Players shoe (2 last I think??) the taper is more elongated and thus more elegant IMO. It's very subtle, but I think I prefer the 2 to the 5.

Question to all the AE lovers. Im looking to buy my forst pair, maube.the strands in walnut, my question is how does the.sizing run? I am usually 9.5 in everything, my clarks and nike's are 9.5, should I stay with a 9.5 or drop half size down? I ask because I am purchasing online any input would be appreciated

I like my AE's. I own the Vernon's, the Manhattans and the Evanstons.

Although, I can say my favorite shoes are my new borgiolis

The Fall 2011 catalog has dropped:

    http://issuu.com/allenedmonds/docs/2011_falldigest

After my first quick digital flip-through,

    Good things:
-The Walden beefroll penny loafer is now offered in burgundy shell cordovan. Only other I've seen is made by Carmina (PG has a pair).

    Bad things:
-Still no Mora (custom only, $450). But they released a dressier version of the Lubbock, the Norwich, to supplement the other single monk, the Boston :bored:
-Independence collection is kinda underwhelming, although I really wasn't sure what I was expecting.
-Every new addition to the Rough collection is ugly as hell, coming from a guy who loved the first three from Spring '11.
-The Fifth Street has arrived! AND THEY ADDED A MEDALLION. I think it throws the boot off, would've been better with just a brogued captoe.

Man, I sound like I'm complaining a lot.

Anyone care to help me out with a sizing question?

I'm a 13E in the 5 last, with a bit of room length wise. Chances I could fit into a 13D in the 2 last? (The Lombard is on sale for a great deal...)

This is what I'm assuming, but I'll be able to confirm this for you tomorrow. I'm a 9E on the 5 last and ordered a 9D on the Lombard, which arrives tomorrow.

    Thanks for posting.

The Independence collection is OK; you have to remember that at the top end price point they are shooting for conservative. They're assuming that most who can afford to pay the higher price is going to be older.

It looks like their AE collection has sold well. I really hope they don't go the way of J&M and start cheapening the entire brand to cater to the lower price sector. It's a good sign that they are clearly stating that these shoes are made in the DR (and kudos to them for giving that information). Hopefully they will manage this well and not compromise the mainline quality.

    This shoe is freakin' awesome.

Does anyone know which shoe the RL Sanderson is based on? I have the Sanderson in suede; is it the Players in disguise?

I'm able to get the Players walnut for $200. I don't need it but (WANT IT) am tempted by the fact that the walnut is exclusive to Nordstrom and not sure if I'll be able to get them for this good of a deal again

    comments?
