1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

All of the above is correct regarding the soles. I'm hoping Allison is there so I can personally thank her, and I'll be sure to do so on behalf of the many, many people on SF who have dealt with her.

I think he's looking for a traditional buck, not a wingtip.

You could also base your MTO white buck off of the Black Hills (5 last), which might actually be a little cheaper.

I stand by my contention that people generally apply too much polish to their shoes. I come across a lot of old shoes (in thrift shops) with caked on polish. Ruined. The worst are the brogued shoes with holes completely filled in. I don't use that wax Kiwi polish anymore. That's the worst culprit. If anything, I use cream polishes that, I think, condition as they shine. And, I will usually apply it when my shoes have some scuffs that need to be covered up. I also think that applying conditioner helps lessen those microcreases that people have been complaining about recently.

In addition, contrary to my screen name, I don't believe that shoes should have a high military-mirror like shine. That's show-offy for businesswear, IMHO.

So the new Strands I have have messed up broguing. Some of the holes were not punched out properly and if you look under them, it is a light tan color. On the other side of the shoe from where the punches were messed up, the broguing is oblong. It seems like QC was out to lunch when these were made. It is in a visible location and even more visible when you cross your legs. I know that AE will more than likely accept the return, but I am being over picky? If I remove the messed up punches and put some polish in the holes, would that work (Is that what is normally done?) I don't want to leave the holes that tan color since they are bourbon strands and that is a good deal of contrast.

    Thanks!

The question is: What shoes are you going to wear?

I'm guessing this would be a terrible way to burnish my Walnut Franciscans....

Haha I'll almost certainly be wearing the only MTOs currently in my possession and in the pictures above.

I'm not saying that people should cake it on, but I condition and polish. Moderation is the key.

Are any of the outlets having any seconds sales right now, or in the near future that anyone's aware of?

I'm curious, what did you use Leather Honey on? I used them on an ex-girlfriend's boots and (as expected) it significantly darkened them. Any idea what the "active" ingredients are in it?

Thanks! I hope it does come out great.

I requested for the moc toe and the stitching at the back to be tan so in guessing fox stitching is the stitch at the back. MWS would probably be the best person to give a reply on this.

I requested the top line piping/slip beading (again thanks to MWS) to be navy, so I think that's what binding means.

Yeah unfortunately full price. I justified it to myself by thinking that the MTO Eagle County at $197 offsets the full price of the MTO Grayson. Haha.

    Thank you my good man.
(My amex does not thank you.)

I have a pair of chukkas from them....will have to root around in the closet to find the model.
My bayfield's are getting a fair amount of wear.

I am lusting after the Shaker Heights in chili.
