I've researched pictures of AE's brogue suede to get a better idea of what the new strands will look like. Some pictures look comparable to snuff suede; others look darker. Anyone with brogue suede shoes able to lend some insight?

Quote:I have the Quentin in brogue suede and the Player shoe in snuff. I will try to get some side-by-side pictures tonight. I also have the Amok in bitter chocolate suede (I think), so I can throw that in there also.

Figured this was the best bet to get an answer. I wear a 12E on the 8 last, and I am looking at picking up a pair of Kenilworths. I've read that sizing for the 5 last (Kenilworth and Strand) is a bit wonky. Should I go with the 12E, or is there a generally followed rule of sizing up/down?

Pictures sent to me by Allen Edmonds the other day.

Please note: This is what I was told by AE. Please don't order shoes based solely on this info.

I don't know when it ends, but either the 4th or 5th.

Kristle just called me back from Jeffersonville and was a huge help as always. Got the Malvern in brogue suede and the Elgin in tan.

I asked for an updated list of non close out shoes to maybe add to the order and use the 20% off coupon. Add in the Neumoks coming from the Nordstrom sale and these shoes are killing my wallet! I seriously think I need to sneak them into the house now to avoid questions.

I agree, but just going by what AE told me and what they labeled the pictures as.

The seconds list has the Amok in brogue suede and mocha, while the catalog has snuff suede and bitter chocolate. I don't know if they are the same, 3 different colors, or even 4 different colors.

That does look dark. There were initial complaints regarding the colors of the Amok being off with regard to AE's other suede offerings. Not sure if that is still true today.

For those who deal with the Nordstrom Manager mentioned - by email and phone - there is rarely a problem with quality, because he has a Nordstrom Style drop-shipped from AE directly to you in most cases. Buying off the internet at Nordstrom's is more risky than buying from the manager.

If you need help, let me know.

Scotty, I believe you already have the Nordstrom's Manager contact info - and he is better at price matching than most I have seen. Just email him the link and ask. After all, Nordstroms offers email subscriptions too - and you can get an instant Rewards Account from them with no credit check - which will give you extra benefits.

Amazon is good, for sure, but read the fine print on returns. I am unsure about Amazon paying for return shipping, especially if it is shipped by the vendor and not Amazon.
