1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Check the sale/close out section of the website and email for a list of those models available in your sizes.

I was told that each outlet only can sell doorbusters ($99 closeouts) for items physically in their store. They would not have access to other stores' merchandise like they do on normal seconds. For example, the list I got of available inventory had several closeout styles in my size but there was only one pair of the Finch at Jeffersonville. You would have to find out the location of your desired shoe and contact that location directly.

The Long Branch is not a close out model and not supposed to be $99. Wonder if you're going to actually get them or a phone call apologizing for the mistake.

FYI to all placing orders with the j'ville store: just got my receipt for my Black Friday purchase and was charged incorrectly. Please double check the emailed receipt once you receive it to make sure everything is correct.

Happy shopping, can't wait for all the new shoe pics.... Especially mine!

They had the brown ones listed as a closeout on the list I was sent. Dark brown was also listed, but not as a closeout. I'll update when my receipt comes through.

I ordered two $99 closeouts from J'ville (Lubbocks and Aberdeens), based on a list Kristle sent me. She did not indicate whether it was a list only of what's in that store or across the system.

Just called Jeffersonville and confirmed the Long Branch is part of the close out list and already sold out in 12D.

Does this have the wedge sole? Or can you order MTO without the wedge?

OK, so ulta-newb here, especially with MTO. What is a mini-lug sole? Or a lug-sole, even? Or a flat sole (or welt..)? And anything else I need to know, especially if I'm going to MTO these things for this great deal!

Ah ok sorry. Well, all these options have been covered, but I know this forum search is ponderous.

Check out this fall style guide. There's an image of every sole they offer towards the back:

    http://issuu.com/allenedmonds/docs/ae_spring_digest_web_lr

The edge is the wooden rim the sole is attached to. The welt is a thin leather strip that connects it to the upper. Flat means it's inside the shoe. Reverse means it's outside. Take a look at the McNeil or Leeds, that's reverse. The park ave, strand, etc are flat. Some claim reverse is more weather proof. I'm skeptical. Flat is dressier than reverse.

When you call Allison, she can explain your options in greater detail.

Go to the AE web site and play around with the custom shoe web app. You'll get a feel for how things will go. But you'll have way more options thru Allison...

meh......in the end, I just bought a merlot belt for 29.99.

no shoes for me this black friday.

what I really what is an MTO Haight. Maybe I can get Allison to honor the sale price for a merlot calfskin version.
