My, my . . . if other members don't want to know where there is a shoe-tree sale in the split-toes version with free shipping . . . then I will be the first to promote all members to SHUT UP.

Since the other tree shoe link was posted for approximately $8-9, PLUS SHIPPING, and members have already griped about the total cost, they too have mentioned Nordstrom Rack to buy them for less. Norsdtrom Online is a bit higher, but it may be well suited when combining with an AE shoe that is discounted up toe $135 OFF the regular AE price.

Then again, friend, you always have the forum software option to BLOCK my posts so you don't have to worry about my posting of Nordstrom, AE, Hangerproject, Sid Mashburn, Need Supply, Maxton, and a host of other sites that have fabulous deals for forum members.

As always, I wish you the best and a good weekend,

    David

I was just wondering, what constitutes ban worthy offenses on SF? I can't seem to find the rules, if there are any.

Yes, David, I have seen your prior posts advocating for certain sites. All of that, however, pales in comparison with the shilling you are currently doing for Nordstrom. We're talking 10 Nordstrom posts for every 1 advocating for Saphir or Hanger Project. Your Nordstrom shilling seemed commendable at first when you were telling people to hold off on their purchases until the Anniversary Sale, but the past week or so is clear commercial speech attempting to sell shoes for Nordstrom. Now you are trying to steer people away from other companies in order to pay more money to Nordstrom for the same product. You just advocated that someone pay an additional dollar to buy their shoe trees from Nordstrom, instead of JAB.

Let's be fair, David only has 96 posts referencing Nordstrom out of the 324 posts he's made in this thread. That's not quite even 30%! It could be far worse.

I believe David's intent is honorable. It is highly evident that he has an obsessive personality and when he finds something he likes, he mentions it repeatedly to anyone willing to listen. I have thought about blocking his replies before, due to the fact that the majority of his posts are redundant or copy/paste descriptions from websites, sometimes hasty (as when he called out ColdIron for mistreating his boots), but I do find some of his information useful and therefore live with the redundancy.

David has mentioned before that he has been ridiculed in other forums for being a bit overbearing, so he is aware of the fact that his personality can rub some people the wrong way. I, for one, enjoy having a few oddballs around the campfire...though, it would be nice if the Nordstrom Tales were available in Cliff's Notes.

I looked on BB's website and they only provide D widths.

I entirely agree regarding his honorable intentions and that he is trying to help certain folks out. I just wish he could take the criticism and adapt his ways for everyone's (even his own) benefit. Things like using pm's, not posting the same info over and over again within a matter of hours or days, and not constantly quoting random descriptions or pictures or links from AE's or Nordstrom's site would go a long way.

I shared this opinion until recently. I've become skeptical in light of how overt the attempt to sell Nordstrom products has been in recent posts.

That is strange. Every time I have the outlets send me lists of their stock, it always has pairs of the BB version and I wear a EEE. So they clearly make or made them in the past.

I fall in line with OptoDoc and others on this. David likes providing information and it does seem rather obsessive, but then most of us on this forum, and this thread specifically, seem at least slightly obsessive about shoes at least.

I do agree that David posts terribly often about Nordstroms, but, and I don't mean to be insulting, his constant attempts to sell Nordstrom aren't refined enough for a true salesman. And his constant references seem to actually be having a negative effect. Again, I'm not trying to be rude, but it comes off a little bit like a child who has found a new toy and wants to show it to everyone. There doesn't seem to be a deceptive aspect to it...I think David is just trying to help people out and maybe not in the best way. He's a good sport though, he's even suggested that certain people should just block him!

Me too. I bought BB Strands in E. Maybe it's just BB PA's that come only in D? That would be odd though

I think a wider shoe would also have more material in the quarters to allow for tying closely, let us know how you went.

If you are looking for a more formal shoe, should get a proper one that is appreciate for all formal occasions, like PA or FA, because it's likely to be your only pair of black shoes.

I think by a show of *hands* David has been more informative and helpful, then unhelpful with his information and guidance as to where to purchase shoes.

Of course one can argue its repetitive, but in the big picture, he has helped more members than hurt.

I vote for him to keep providing information to us all.

Plus, you have to remember, David only offers the information to other members, when others have questions about it. He doesn't spam FYI's about things, unless relevant.
