Nordstrom should have the AE Park Aves on sale starting tomorrow for 229.99. Get them in black and that could be your formal black shoes. You have more than half of your budget for the browns. Check out AE clearance site right now, you may be able to pick out something you like

I recieved better customer service buying directly from AE than Nordstrom. AE took the time to measure my foot.

Not sure if anyone is aware that Horween is now selling Venetian shoe cream directly on their webstore (along with Saphir renovateur and other stuff).

    http://horween.bigcartel.com/product/venetian-cream

The most interesting bit is that (other than the updated packaging) Horween confirmed that they actually use Venetian is actually in the factory

Since I first read Nick Horween comment regarding Venetian shoe cream on his blog, I always wonder whether the cream they used in this video (2:44) was Venetian shoe cream or not...

    I guess it was :satisfied:

David - a majority of your posts are about Nordstrom. What is your affiliation? Apologies if you've already addressed this.

    Hello guys,

I have a sizing problem and really need your help. Ok, I usually wear a 10 d, and thought that it was fine. However, I bought an
Allen Edmonds Chestnut Split Toe Blucher 10 D Walton, and the seller warned me that it was a bit
wide. Well, it fit great! So I thought how about if I move to 10 E. The reason is that I do have wide feet, and one
problem that I have had is the nail on my right pinkie toe rubbing and wearing out the shoes. In fact, the nail (sorry
for gross description) is thick and hardened from rubbing against shoes at 10 D.

So I went back to ebay and got this: stockbridge brown calf leather split toe oxford 10 E. Well, the width is fine,
but it is too long! (Is it possible that it is actually a 10.5 E? How can I tell)

So I guess I'm between an 10 D and 10 E? MTO is too expensive for my budget, and I need to figure out what lasts
and size would fit me. The 'wide' Blucher 10 D is a true pleasure to wear, no rubbing and squeezing my feet! I also
bought the AE Players wingtip 10 D at Nordstrom (due to the sale) and it is wearable, but still too narrow.

Please advise, what combination of size/last would best suit me? Thanks!

If you go to AE's website and look up shoes you own it will tell you what last that shoe was built on. You can use this information to decide if you want D or E or EEE width. Look for shoes built on the same last as your Walton and a D should fit you. Look for shoes built on the other last and get then in E or EEE.

You can tell the size by looking inside the shoe, it should be printed in there.

+1. Curious about this as well (and just to be clear, I think you've been most helpful, just wanted to know if you're connected to the store or not).

Does Donald Trump (or one of his companies) own Nordstrom?

The difference between this and the unfortunate story of Prada buying Churches is that Prada completely destroyed the quality of the product. I wouldn't touch a pair of Church shoes with a ten foot pole at this point. What gets under my skin even more is deliberate deception by Prada to pass a shoe that is Blake-stitched with cheap materials off as a Goodyear-welted shoe. Check out this article: http://shoegazingpunktse.blogspot.com/2013/05/nyhet-churchs-fejkar-randsom.html (It's in swedish, so activate Google Translate if you want to read it, but the pictures tell enough).

I really like the idea of a shoe that is dedicated to walking, but has the durability and re-craftability of a Goodyear-welt. Slip a Superfeet insole in and walk all day in extreme comfort. They'd be great for travelling and sightseeing where you are walking all day. That doesn't mean I'm thrilled about the delivery of the style and design on this particular shoe though.

You will get a different answer from everyone on this, but I think AE's polish is just fine.
