I hit the Rediscover America sale, so it only set me back $505.75.

Scored a pair of CXL Bayfields seconds on sale. Fifth pair of AE since July thanks to this thread. So far the Bourbon Kenilworths are my favorite. Eying a pair of burgundy shell Leeds if I can still get the sale pricing.

wearing my Long Branch for the first time today. LOVE them (except the heel squeaks a little while walking, hopefully this will go away as they break in).

They look great! I'd be interested in seeing the reaction from non-AE fans. Maybe it's worth a cross post into wurger's quintessential black cap toe oxford thread.

Those laces look great with your boots. Did they come with them?

They really take a casual take on them - love it.

Yes, they come with red laces in them, but also come with brown laces in the box.

I was thinking the same thing. I will take better pictures and put it up in there.

Those Harrisons are so gorgeous! Its a shame that sole won't look like that for long. [IMG]

A little better pic of my Merlot Macneil webgems today on their maiden voyage. Not sure if I'm doing right with Navy pants but it is what it is. The color on these are gorgeous. In some lights red in others purple. Something about them makes me hungry for Steak and a glass of Red Wine. [IMG]

Those are far and away the sleekest looking AE's I've ever seen. Very nice! Do you mind revealing how much those cost with shell? If you want to PM me rather than post it here I'd appreciate it. Thanks! Also, how long was the wait?

During the RDA sale, shell shoes were $505. Not on sale they would be $595.

Let me know which pair you decide to keep. I wonder if the 9D or 8.5EEE would work best for me.

Here's to getting your slippers and your account access soon.

Precisely. Took about 5 weeks to get. My Cappuccino Jeffersons only took 4 weeks.

This is a transaction from one PE to another. This is not an aquisition of a struggling company by a PE firm. If there was ever an opportune time to move production overseas, it would have been under the previous ownership. They kept production domestic, and even increased the number of employees in the US during the financially trying times that the US experienced in 2008-2009. For AE, this is the main point of differentiation from other brands. With the growth that AE experienced under Goldner Hawn- Johnson Morrison, a smart firm would fund a proven successful model before changing it. But, as you stated, only time will tell.

I am patiently waiting for my MTO.
    I am 3.5 weeks in.
I have a feeling they are going to drop about the same time as I have 2 other preorders due.

    Great boot! Congrats.
:slayer: Navy pants are fine. Would like to see how this color compares to AEs current #8/burgundy.

I was looking at the old catalogs online and noticed AE used to use "Black Cherry" shell cordovan.
I wonder if it was any different than the burgundy (or how it compares).

I know that AE's burgundy was a lot lighter than the current version. Maybe, like Alden's ravello.
