Worth keeping? Only concerned with the knick getting bigger over time. [/IMG]
I would return them, even though with the inside metal piece, it won't probably won't bigger, but it's just not right.
a bit of renovateur and polish can fix that.
Walnut McAllisters today:
Very nice!! I want that shoe but have the merlot McAllister and walnut Strand so it makes no sense. I'll expand my colours some more and then at some point I'll certainly grab a pair.
Hmmm.... I wasn't planning to spend the $$ on the Renovateur, I did buy the Allen Edmonds shoe care products, the cleaner/conditioner, wax polish, and the liquid premium polish. Will that do the trick?
I don't want to have to buy another product just so my shoes are right, ya know? I'd rather have them replaced if it would take buying something else just to get them to where I feel they should be off the line.
You may not be happy with having shell for an oxford style shoe. The shell will appear to bend and crease and is not a desired look with such a formal shoe as the PA.
It is hard to start off with Saphir (Renovateur) products because you will not appreciate it compared to other products. One day after you are finished with the kiwi or AE, give Saphir a try!
Giving the Madison Ave's some pop with the colored laces. Really becoming one of my fave AE's.
I probably will try it out in the future once I have a couple more pairs of shoes worth using it on
But I just mean I don't think I should HAVE to use it to get the shoes where they should be when I receive them, right? Or is that darkening in the leather just normal?
Shade variations are completely normal, and are particularly evident in walnut shoes where the burnishing builds up more on the high points of the leather.
So just found out the "W" stamp means sold without warranty.
Does that mean they are seconds or can first quality be sold without warranty as well?
Some quick pics of my shell Townleys after about 6 or 7 wearings. Surprisingly little creasing.
Those do look amazing.
