Sounds like you're in a similar work environment to me; based on your current collection, I'd give consideration the McAllister in burgundy. That would give you another colour and style of shoe that you currently don't have while still adding something that is fairly versatile in it's ability to dress up or down, situation depending of course.

I can always count on you, CI. Thanks again. I may just order an 8D and 7.5E, sending back the most ill-fitting pair. I'd like these mostly to wear with jeans but also for the occasional casual Saturday at work with chinos or cords.

    Must. Post. Pics.

My bourbon McAllisters arrived this week, but I forgot to order shoe trees. As soon as I get some, I will post pictures of the maiden voyage. I have to agree with the previously mentioned posts regarding the width of the welt towards the front of the shoe. As the shoe tapers the welt does seem to be a bit excessive, cutting down on the sleekness of the look. Irregardless, it is a beautiful shoe.

lucky, no word in mine and seeing all this shell has me jealous. I really would love it if why walnut shell came out with some reddish tones in it.

My situation sounds remarkably similar to 7_rocket. I wear black, navy, charcoal and medium grey pants with dress shirts (I'll add a tie twice a week). I currently have dark brown Strands and black plain cap bluchers from Lands End.

I am considering adding a black bal for special occasions like the Fifth Avenue or the Rutledge.

Another idea was to go with the Webgem Fifth Avenue in Chili and black Rutledge.

Are there any other styles that sound like a logical addition, now or in the future?

Not only that, but the heel section has an extra layer of padding that the rest of the sole does not. Although it is pretty easy to peel back the leather top layer and scrape off the heel cushion.

Good News and I can't wait to get that call on mine! I have been wearing my replacement black calf Bayfields with the poron insoles half a size larger than my TTS doing yard work and a fair amount around the house. And they are perfect, creasing and everything else. I think that you will be happy with yours and now wish I would had stuck with the poron insoles and gone up a half size on my MTO. But have a feeling that I might pick up another pair in a different color anyhow. I really love those boots and now miss my CXL ones. I should work on doing a MTO replacement of those too, Lands End is out of the 10.5D CXL :-(

I am guessing this is what causes my heel to sit higher up in the shoe and give it some lift when I walk.

Thank you. This is making things complicated. Now I wonder if I should go TTS or size up.

FWIW, I wear a Barrie last in 9.5D.

Looking forward to seeing the Bayfields and the Daltons.
My Walnut Dundee's are due to arrive in next few days, I too am interested to see how color came out.

Mentioned this to Debbie to see if this is a cordovan treatment I could get. Turns out they're calf and only made for China. Color is "wine brush-off." They put the dark on top and brush it off partially.

I love the eagle county but can't stand the red sole.

Then I saw the black bayfields and was blown away. Is MTO the only way to get those? Would it be cheaper to get black eagle county's and paint the sole or have them resoled?
