Need some input. I received my chukkamok seconds, and Kristal advised me there would be a small stain, potentially grease, on the right toebox. She said I could email her a picture and she would give me a discount depending on how bad it was. I really like these boots, they are extremely comfortable, and the stain seems to be something that doesnt come off just by scratching with a fingernail. What are your thoughts? They were 159 and there is a potential discount, on the other hand I could return them and wait for seconds to become available, or just get my money back:

I have AE leather lotion, Im hoping theres something I can use to try and get the stain out...maybe renomat? If I can get the stain out and a patrial refund from AE, that would make them a great deal...

I dont think the stain will be too noticeable while on your feet, should be able to diminish the appearance with some lotion/cleaner

Okay, somebody help me- went back to the AE store (I have GOT to get out of Atlanta!!) and just fell in love with this-

I saw it on the website and thought yuch- saw it in person and against all rational thought it hit my "it's just so damn ugly it's cute" button, then I tried it on- footgasm!! Just SO comfortable... and looks great with jeans!

Should I get that, or this one?

Any input would be appreciated- I will probably go back tomorrow and get one of them... maybe someone has both, one is more more versatile than the other, more comfortable long term?

Im not sure, I havent asked. The stain looks like it has set pretty strongly, is leather lotion strong enough to get it out?

I feel like maybe 50 bucks would make it worth it, otherwise I should probably just return them

agreed, i would try the mac method a few times. Eventually you may scuff them up anyway. Solid beater boots

Damn- URGENT question, about to leave back to Africa Sunday for three months...

Just bought these in Bourbon, got BAD advice on polishing- said to polish with Walnut, then use dark brown for the "burnished" parts. Well, I just used a touch of Renovateur to condition first and it stripped the color from Bourbon to Walnut on the tiny spot of the heel that I tested it on. So this means if I polish with Walnut it will ALL look Walnut, no??

What color should I use on Bourbon calf, and should I NOT use Reno ever, as it will strip the beautiful color and leave me to try to duplicate it again? Do I just use neutral polish??

Help!! Dammit, I love the Bourbon and don't want to eff it up!!

I wonder if renomat would be a good Idea? It cant be too bad since I would only be using it on a small section of the boot. Im guessing I would need to follow up with renovateur and tan cream?

Since shipping is free, you might want to call the AE shoebank and check. If memory serves I believe if you buy more than 2 it is priced at $17.50 a pair.
