Also, that's not the typical AE captoe brogue pattern, as a quick glance at my toes confirms.

If you weren't aware, pressing ctrl + should increase font size across the board in your browser window (and ctrl - to decrease it, if need be).

One grand in three months of forum membership -- sounds about par for the course. :D

Me too. I'd sworn off buying any more shoes until November -- but between that and Mr. G's very generous offer, I may have to have some 14AA MacNeils done up as soon as funds untie themselves...

You are correct. But to be fair, they have more than one captoe brogue pattern, and they have changed through the years.

I took advantage of Mr. Grangaard's post a couple weeks back and have been in communication with him/AE on getting a special color of Shell Cordovan in a pair of McNeils or William Williams, a longwing. Not sure which I am going to get yet. They are sending me swatches of what colors they have available... $$$

    The $$$ mean it's over $500?

They told me that for a custom color/one off Shell Cordovan pair for SF members, the price is $595, and we will not be charged the custom fees that would normally occur. Which I believe is $125-$150. So, I am paying retail for the shoe, but saving the custom cost. I suppose not a bad deal for a custom pair of Shell Cordovan.

No, it is not bad at all and a great deal just to even have our desires available as a custom order. Not something that you easily find done anywhere. Be careful of those swatches of shell colors. Last time they did that for me I decided all of the above!

    And no regrets whatsoever.

How did you size on the Sandersons?

Did you inquire what shades of cordovan are available?

The above looks to be crockett and jones if I had to guess, Westfields. The chiseled toe makes me lean towards it being English.

I went TTS on the Sandersons. They are a little bit narrower than other AE lasts of the same size, but after a few wears they feel fine.

It's worth pointing out that the Cambridge has the McAllister-like throat broguing around the ankle unlike the Jefferson.

Thanks! Any idea if it is on a custom last? Sounds like it is maybe on or close to the 5 last?

Here's a quote from Skip Horween (the horse's mouth, if you will) from about 5 years ago:
