There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Some serious shell addicts here! I think the longer I go without fully understanding the shell lure the better off my pocketbook will be...and the longer it'll be before my wife catches on!

I have about two weeks on my walnut daltons and two more aldens as well. I also acquired the matching belt. AE MTO will be the death of my checking account.

I just wanted to chime in on my Neumok experience. Like some but not all of you, I found Neumoks to be more narrow and long than standard 5-65 lasted shoes. See these posts for more discussion: one two three. I also had the problem with the funny bump on the toe where the lined and unlined portions met.

Polojock615, Was the color of the burgundy Leeds the same color as the burgundy MacNeil when you purchased them? If so, about how long did it take them to get that color? Did you use any special conditioner on them to get that patina? I ask because my MacNeils are now about 7 years old and they are still the same color as your MacNeils. Thanks.

You would thnk that, but instead you will end up buying the same shoes in shell that you already have in calf. You would actually save money by buying shell first (no duplicates). It's up to you though.

Interested to see those sheltons and Macneils - post them up when you receive them, if you don't mind.

Truth. I have 1 more pair to re-buy in shell, then that exercise will be done. Just picked up some shell park aves to replace some calf park aves, should be here this week.

I'm interested in seeing them too - don't worry: I know pics or it didn't happen. I ordered them on 5/1, so I'm expecting them in the next couple of weeks. I also ordered a pair of chili shark/dark brown shark Sheltons and a pair of the walnut/bone MacNeils that were the last web gem.

When purchasing the Leeds, I went to eBay on purpose. Best I can tell, they're at least 10 years old. I was looking for something with more patina than usual. If I didn't knwo better, I'd swear I got a pair of Cold Iron's shoes. Someone obviously brushed these until their arm gave out every day for years. The leather itself is glossy, something you don't see with a new pair of shell from AE. All I've done is reno them and buff with a buffing cloth. As for the MacNeils, I'm pretty sure they've gotten lighter. I also took a whole bunch of prdouct off of them when I bought them. They were one of the first pairs to come through with the new process they're using for burgundy shell. I actually requested a new pair to get the new finish.

This is what they looked like when I first got them, albeit in indoor lighting:

This is what they first looked like outside:

    And now:

In between the pictures (a couple of months) was when I stripped off all the extra product.

Speaking of removing product, I actually tried renomat on the Dundees. I was having a problem with a very cloudy finish. I stripped off an impressive amount of cream, reno'd them and then buffed for a while with a cloth. I don't know why, but brushing them seemed to make it worse, so I'm stuck with just a polishing cloth. They look much better, but the end product I have in mind is a brown version of my Leeds. The black PAs have also been giving me trouble. Sometimes I wish I could box up the whole set and send them to Cold Iron so he can polish them all to his mirror shine and send them back. He's the one who really knows what he's doing with shell - his Wolverines and Dundees look amazing!

I wear the same size in Neumoks as my other 5-last shoes. The white ones seem to fit a little funny at times - I wonder if it's just the color white? You can notice little indentations on either side of the toe on the white ones in this picture.

So I've been seeing others collections, so I thought I'd post a very dated picture. It's amazing how fast these collections get out of hand. I'm up to 40 pairs, with 4 more on the way. Maybe when those get here, I'll take another picture. Does anyone else rotate out what they don't wear? It seems like I get rid of a lot of shoes. I've gotten rid of six and traded in three for the correct size: 12E to 12EEE for the shell MacNeils, 12D to 12E for the Delrays and 12EEE to 11.5EEE for the McTavishes. Hm... That means since this picture I've added 21 pairs. I've got a problem. Especially because I don't think this photo is particularly old.

Are those all Allen Edmonds brand? I am finally in a position to say that I do appreciate Allen Edmonds fine quality in shoes. My recent purchase of some fiesols do prove what you all have been saying about the fine quality of Allen Edmonds. I previously thought that there was no difference in quality between different brands of men's dress shoes so I walked around in State Street shoes which I got at Payless, based on what I paid for them I did in fact get my dollars out of them but I think that I would have been a lot happier with some really good Allen Edmonds shoes.

When you are wearing sneakers what brand do you generally wear? What is the Allen Edmonds of the sneaker world?

They're all AE. So are the rest of the 44. As for other shoes, I have a pair of black Red Wing work boots, a pair of steel toe Doc Martens left over from my days in the oil industry, a pair of red low-top Converse All-Stars, and a whole bunch of pairs of Rainbow Sandals. They're a SoCal thing, and since I'm really a surfer dude at heart they're all I really wear outside of work and events. Fo athletic shoes, I generally stick with New Balance. They're nothing to write home about, but they get the job done.

    On the way:
