Thanks for the tip. Purchasing them now
Yes they are the Dundee in calf. FedEx just dropped off my Truffle shell Dundee's a few minutes ago so now I have to update my Dundee collection picture with the Truffle and Dark Brown. Walnut, black and #8:
On the RL website the Saunders looks like it is only a 2 eye chukka. The truffle just came out of the box with the middle eyes not laced and it looks identical to the Saunders. So hopefully soon I will be able post an updated picture with the dark brown shell, truffle shell, and brown calf.
U guys are swamping the Arkansas place. Phones are going to voicemail now
Why doesn't AE have a website for their shoebank? Would be very convenient if you could check to see their available shoes and sales without having to wait for an email or call and have someone give you the rundown.
shhh! its our little secret! I'm assuming it would be bad for their regular retail business... I've found the shoebank to be really responsive, and I don't mind the little legwork for the extra savings
I'm wearing the merlot McCallisters right now. You should be jealous haha
Although I am fairly new here, this pic is nostalgic lol. Idk why, it just is, its one of those pics I'll never forget.
God help you if you take an updated pic that isn't on a sunny day, outside, in front of an American flag lol.
I ordered a pair of Brooks Macneil in chili grain and a pair of RL Sandersons in tan calf from the sale. Kind of hoping that at least one of them don't work out for me, since I really don't need more shoes right now. But they are soooo difficult to pass up with the sale prices.
Anybody know of a retailer in Miami that sells AE's so I can try them on and learn my size, and what styles I like?
seriously, does it need to be spoonfed to you.
1. go to allen edmonds web site, see if they have a store near you.
2. if not, go to nordstroms, lord and taylor, neiman marcus and see what you can find.
3. if none of that works for some odd reason, do a search for mens shoe retailers in your area and call them.
Actually, I already did that. The closest Nordstrom that HAS them is 70 miles from me, I was wondering if Brooks Brothers will have them in stock at a B&M. They aren't listed as carrying them on AE's website but some of you are saying there are BB models and RL models, should I go to their shops as well or are they in select locations which is why it doesn't come up in a search.
Brooks has AE shoes in their stores. Just ask the sales associate which one is AE; they are all in the 5 last.
Macy's also have some AE shoes.
Thanks for the heads up, ill check them out. There's a few Macy's near me.
Here is the flyer for the upcoming seconds sale, along with some of the other models that will be discounted. I was told that all models not featured in the flyer will be 15% off.
So I got my Shell Cordovan Daltons this week. They were seconds, and I was on a waiting list for almost a year for them. I got them at an unbelievable price-- $299. (I locked in to that March 2012 price) Overall, I am incredibly impressed. They are extremely lightweight, soft, comfortable-- cordovan is such a wonderful leather! They are supposed to be seconds, but I was hard pressed to find why. Maybe some evidence of mis-nailed heels? They're on there solid enough, but it's kinda sloppy. But that's not visible to anyone. Also, I'm not sure why they are called Walnut, because these guys are really more on the solid medium to dark brown side. I can't give pictures right now, but they aren't anywhere as light as my walnut Cliftons, and maybe a shade under my chocolate Macneils.
I really like them, but I think I'm going to try to leave them out in the sunlight for a couple of months just to get that shell to lighten up a bit. Did anyone else find their Walnut Daltons to be darker than the typical walnut calf shoe?
