Looks like you broke the heel counterView attachment 1840181 View attachment 1840182 Daltons yesterday, third wear of this replacement pair (AE lost the pair sent in for recrafting). Haven’t had a pair crease like this before. . . Love my Daltons, not so happy about this particular pair after 3 wears. Is there a clear cause of this, something I can do to prevent, short of throwing away?
Paper-thin heel counters used by AE these days. I would contact customer service, failure after just three wears should warrant a replacement.View attachment 1840181 View attachment 1840182 Daltons yesterday, third wear of this replacement pair (AE lost the pair sent in for recrafting). Use a 3/4 length insole. Break-in is hard. Wet wool socks may help.Anyone with Red Wing experience?
I normally wear boots in size range of 13B to 14AA. I got these Red Wing 10877s in a 14B, expecting to use an insole and wear slightly thicker socks.
Will these break in faster if I wear them without an insole for a while?

I am willing to acknowledge Moctoeberfest.I am changing my brand, come on, how can you say no to a Marketing campaign like Croctober?

I was mildly offended, and promptly unsubscribed from all future emails. This should not be encouraged. Now, good day.Disagree. This is the appropriate footwear for a runaway groom. Or, on the off-chance that there's a fire in the theater during an opera. Don't underestimate the size of either of those markets.
Happy Wednesday forum pals. I was cleaning out some old images and stumbled on this one made some years back when I lived in California. A round-up of shell MacNeils for @EdwardWilson. Blue, bourbon, burgundy, brown and natural. It's sad to think of all of the additional material "wasted" to make them.

My friend, those beautiful gunboats might be more appropriate for the vintage shoe thread.
Looking sharp! I’d pay an up-charge for MTO MacNeils in shell to cover all that “wasted material…”Strand weaves in chili for Tuesday. Chili is such a exceptional color.

Yesterday I started the day with some Daltons for WTW.

These are slowly starting to conform to my feet. Only wore these for the first half of the day because when I went home for lunch I saw a package waiting at my door.

So much time was spent trying to hunt down a pair of these. In the end it wasn't ebay or Poshmark who filled my need, it was Allen Edmonds itself. My first pair of Macneils.

The height over my toes is a little snug. These were 10D and perhaps a 10.5C would work better, but I think a good conditioning and some more wear will form these to my feet.

My first long wingtip and I'm in love.

I never really understood the thought of material waste in making these. The small bits leftover could easily be used for something else, such as a watch strap or keychain. I don't think I'd buy a keychain, but I would love an Allen Edmonds watch strap in every color.
