My impression was that all the shell cordovan was clicked and cut in Wisconsin. I agree that it has been baffling why they continue to have such problems.
Are you sure that's the case? If so, even worse.

What's what we were told about 3 years ago. I don't know if it's still the case though.
You and I agree on this....there is a time to dress slovenly and a time to dress well,,,fortunately dressing well is the majority of the time..slovenly is relegated to those weekend mornings when one can just say f*ck it.
Re: the conversation about AE having eyes on any TS remakesWearing TS boots today.
I am still tracking how this pair was produced as it does not have pair numbering. I suspect that the pair was flagged for quality issues and the right was remade. I will know more when my SA gets back to work.

My SA believes that the right actually tore the Shell during lasting. So 6 weeks later another right was cut and sewn. This is why my pair took so long. She thinks it was actually ripped Shell because if it wasn’t, the pair probably would have been sent to me.Re: the conversation about AE having eyes on any TS remakes
@Shoenut did you get an answer to this? Doing some much needed shell maintenance while watching football and realized my 2021 Freeport remakes have mismatched numbers. That might explain why I initially described them as looking like they were cut by different people.
The QC tracking on this pair:
-Deemed seconds on arrival
-Found out they were severely mislasted and requested a repair.
-Repair arrived not repaired at all; requested remake and paid for firsts
-Remade pair arrives with shredded inner box (shipping box in perfect condition), torn piping, so-so toe stitching, and mismatch numbering.
I know some might argue that numbers on the inside of a shoe are meaningless and it doesn't matter if a pair of shoes were crafted at the same exact time. Fair enough... but what if there is a visual difference between a mismatched pair?
Those look very nice; where are they manufactured?View attachment 1872900

Sounds like yet another TS pair that had an issue, caught by AE or otherwise. Hopefully you do not notice a major visual difference between the two.My SA believes that the right actually tore the Shell during lasting. So 6 weeks later another right was cut and sewn. I wonder if mismatched pairing is standard operating procedure for AE now. There was a time when you could score seconds merely because of this.
Yet another chapter of AE crapping on their customer... and not even having the decency to offer seconds pricing for the screw-up.
