Other than the spot on the heel where @Shiner peed on it one drunken night. My most worn and abused MacNeil. Looks no worse for the wear.

Yup, the main driving factor for this purchase is because the winter weather here can get pretty rough. As much as I love my lug sole Strandmoks, they're useless for keeping out the snow and rain.
I used to have around 10 or so non-Strands in the collection, but I've sold or donated (or misplaced) most of them over time. I've also gone through 3 pairs of Porter Derby sneakers, which are my casual go to.How many non-Strands do you own?
If the Strand King wears Freeports and Strandmoks, is he betraying his lineage? Don't blow your wad I expect to see you in Mac Neils.
Well said! Couldn't have put it better myself.View attachment 1739041
Sometimes you just need a boot and no one wants one flavor every day for the rest of their life.
Not to stir the pot, but I'm a much bigger fan of Alden's plain toe boots. Consider those as well. Alden makes amazing boots and their steel shanks are very supportive. However, they also take a much larger chunk out of your savings / paycheck. AE makes very good boots at about half the price.I was planning on going the Alden Indy route, but the price for both Strandmoks plus the off-brand Indys came out to around the same price range...
Price was definitely a factor here. The F2 Freeports came out to a little over $200 all said and done, a third of the $600 asking price for a pair of new Indys. Not to stir the pot, but I'm a much bigger fan of Alden's plain toe boots. How do they fit? I was considering picking up a pair in the sale, but I'm a 10.5B in the 5 last, so I was thinking 11D seeing they don't have narrows, but I'm a bit concerned they'll be too wide.
I wear the same size for the Higgins Mill as I do on the 65 last. My suggestion would be to try a 10.5B.How do they fit? I was considering picking up a pair in the sale, but I'm a 10.5B in the 5 last, so I was thinking 11D seeing they don't have narrows, but I'm a bit concerned they'll be too wide.
