Nice pick up.. Couldn't resist on the oxblood dalton for $195, couple of pocket squares, and 7 merino socks...... Still thinking about the Loden, as my first ever Higgins :)

Would love to hear what others purchased during this current sale.

Just wanted to say, I really like how those look. Sorry for your issues, but I like the color and laces combo. To answer your question, I've had that issue a few times. One of my pairs of boots is slightly crooked. Never had it with the Strands, but I've had it with other shoes like the Badlands.
I agree. Love the style. Really sad to have to return these. A new pair would take over a month to ship, and with the chance of the same issue, I probably won’t risk it.

Worse than that, I lived in the 3500 block, my aunt on the 3400. Now, my wife’s estranged mom lives across the street from my aunt and our house (inherited from her dad) is only 4 blocks away. “Ugh. I hate Amarillo. Everyone knows everybody, and they are all right here to be nosy “ is pretty common from her. ?
I stand corrected. I lived at 3407, which was the aunt's block and one block down from @madhat. I understand his sentiment. Amarillo is a great place to be from. It makes you really appreciate everywhere else.

No offense as now also feel old as the classic rock and r/b music station my parents listened to now plays the music of my prime.

I know what a now discontinued McNeil is as I purchased one in shell two years ago. Just using this as a gauge as many of us know what model this is.

I can’t say this about the Bloor Street though. First time I heard about this.

Just sharing this down the road when I’m really up there. It’s just probably I started late on my shoe game as I’ve seen the fifth street only on videos and pictures here.

Anyone feel the same as me?

Seems like most of my Dainite is on Strand patterns.

I was perusing the AE site today and was struck by how many of the shoes and boots shown on this thread are (i) no longer made by AE, and (ii) much better looking than was IS still made by AE. It is like they drop models just for the sake of change and are replacing them with some ugly looking ideas.

Is the design team a bunch of 11th graders?
AE has moved away from dress shoes and dress boots to casual fare.

They've dropped:

The dundee
The Mac neil
The kenilworth
The weybridge
The cornwallis
The jefferson
The sullivan
The first ave

Right now they have still:

The park ave
The fifth ave
The strand
The Cambridge
The leeds
The dalton
The Hamilton

The fifth ave is definitely languishing right now. The cambridge is also only shell?

Also don't they have limited miusa loafers? Isn't only the Randolph miusa?

I like the special models and runs ae does, but there's nothing being produced as a focus of their marketing that is of interest to me at all.

I think you forgot the McAllister and Delray among the current dress shoe offerings.

And I assume you purposely left out loafers and monkstraps.

It’s obvious that AE is expanding their range with more and more casual styles.

Yes. I left out the monks and they only have one miusa loafer. The loafer range is...very weak.

But yeah, forgot McAllister and Delray.

I think the real story is they want to produce cheap non-miusa shoes.

A few years ago, shoes like the McTavish and Neumok were considered casual styles for AE.
They’ve since introduced a bunch of sneakers, and even put sneaker soles on dress shoes. I think that those things are selling in today’s world of casual dress.
