Trunk Show impulse purchase (I had decided to sit out because just not wild about the models relative to what I already own, but at like 11:58 pm on the final day it got to me) has arrived. The natty shell looks great:

Somebody dozed off while stitching the welt around the toes, though:

They both have it, though the right one is more noticeable. I’m generally not especially picky, so still deciding if I care overmuch—but a little disappointing given the highly visible placement. Previous TS purchases have all been flawless. Ah, well . . .

These Indys have been eluding me for at least a week. I have been picking these Wigwam socks lately. Simple and comfortable.

@pedarius If those were mine, I would just keep them. I would also find some beige laces for them, but that's up to you.

I was super excited about my TS notification yesterday for black marbled, but all I can think about today is Charleston.
Thanks — I had the same thought re laces; had some whiskey laces in reserve, but the brown stitching is really noticeable in person and looked a lot better with contrast of the dark brown laces, oddly enough—not my usual preference. No doubt that will likely change as the shell loses its uniformity, though.

For the guys opining for new dress styles, what would be the style that you would purchase today if AE made them.

I would like a medallion cap Oxford with a unique medallion without any brogueing on the cap or anywhere else. Triple stich the cap in place. Basically a shoe version of the above booty boot. But, I am sure that AE would just use the Strand medallion and call it a day.

Honestly, do not let it bother you. They are handcrafted and a stitch will sometimes not align perfectly with another. It will never be noticed. Everyone will be looking at the stunning shell.

WHYYYY?
did they wait until after the TS to add B widths to the Freeport??? I have too many Higgies and can’t wear the Landon. Natty Freeport in B width would have been a No brainer
Congrats by the way!

Still bummed to hear about Charleston, mostly for the phenomenal people that work there. I hope they find an even better opportunity, and fast.

My ode to Charleston follows. Someone hold my beer.

I’m sure I am missing something and will add posts as I recall additional shoes. Team Charleston - thank you for the excellent shoes, and even better service!
