Whoa…
I'm pretty sure this was all just a figment of your imagination.

It's made on the 2215 last, and I know it's described as being relatively roomy, but I'll be honest that I haven't developed a big control group for this one yet. Just got them into my store and I'm looking forward to more feedback. Might make Jason try them on and give me some notes. Obsessed with the green combat. We should use that green for everything.View attachment 1712414
On a different note though, what is the last on the Chapman wingtip boot? There’s no info on the lasts page about it and the sale is decent right now with some excellent 3rd party cash back.
I’m thinking the navy suede would be good. If you’ve got something dark (green, navy, even burg) I think you’d be good. Depending on the exact in person color, I think I lighter color like walnut or natty could work, but I suspect you also have an aversion to lighter shoes than your trousers. All right, I need advice from folks with culture and taste. Until I locate some, y’all will have to do. ? (rimshot)
I’ve received some lambs wool flannel trousers in what O’Connell’s calls “brick.” They are a bit darker and richer than the photo below suggests. They would be worn with either odd jacket & tie or just a sweater. Either way, I’m stumped as to the best color shoe to go with (you’d have thought I would have worked that out before buying, right?).
Black would seem to be obvious but I have an adversion to black shoes when not with a suit. So, all my black shoes are oxford cap toes; I have nothing in black less formal than that.
So my choices would seem to be (i) buy a less formal black shoe I wouldn’t wear much or (ii) make use of a different color. No, I don’t have any green or blue shoes apart from a blue suede chukka. Well, I take that back, I have a greenish brown chukka that C&J calls “ earth” or something.
Thoughts?
