Not sure if anyone is even remotely interested in natural shell cordovan - but if you are, here are some examples...

But how do you choose between a marbled Strand and Higgins? I am having a hard time focusing at work today.
I'm actually considering the knock-off Indy boot, but otherwise it's Higgins all the way...Strand's extra pieces and brogueing I think will detract from the marbling seen on large expanses of shoe.
Why the knock-off Indy? MACHINE STITCH SHELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Curse you Alden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Machine stitch is best stich.

They look great after some wears (Dundees and loafers are all three great coloring), but natty typically has a sickly fleshy color that I don't like out of the box. Would rather have Bourbon, etc.

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw the marbled burgundy, but then Strand King's pair proved that I was wrong. It could potentially look amazing if they mix the darker colors with the lighter pieces.

I hate to say this... but those natty freeports, with that sole and the AE badge, all I see is a pair of Timberlands. And it kills me because I'm really thinking about a pair of those.

Nothing against Bourbon (which can have an odd green / yellow tone out-of-the-box), but natty moves toward the "ravello" color very quickly. In fact, it's nearly impossible to prevent!

You have green shell Strands, olive calf Strands, and olive Strandmoks already, right? Maybe opt for the marbled black Higgins so you have a olive/green option in boots too!

Yes, I do have a lot of green now that you point it out. Considering I'm moving to a cooler climate, the Higgins might make more sense.

Just get a different sole on them. I agree though. The badge kind of 'cheapens' the look of the boots.

Yeah. I feel you on that one. First I paired down the list to shoes I can wear:

Park Ave
Strand
Freeport
Higgins Mill
Landon
Park Ave Sneaker

Then I thought about what colors I want from any of those: Natural, Marbled Black

I eliminated the Park Ave because it just wouldn't go I think for my outfits in those colors. I then eliminated the Higgins Mill because I am happy with my 1 shell HM. Then I decided which of the colors I would want for the remaining styles:

Strand (Natural, Marbled Black)
Freeport (Natural)
Landon (Natural, Marbled Black)
Park Ave Sneaker (Natural)

Now I just need to figure out which pair or two I will get. I doubt I will get two boots.
