Reading reviews of Dalton’s right now... sad to see so many complaints about QC... major one the tongue not being stitched properly and riding left and right. Not to sound like Facebook group of Allen Edmonds but I too disappointed with QC as I had to bring online orders for exchange sometimes only to find out that second pair was even worse.

maybe I should just start ordering 3 pairs to keep the best one ;) would save me a trip to AE store
Or work with a trusted SA that can take a look at the quality prior to shipping to you?

Got an email from Ashley and Jason yesterday about the Anniversary Sale. Looked around, but I'm not sure anything is getting me going right now. Well, at least not getting me going as much as these gray suede MacNeils they hooked me up with last year.

I don't know why my iPhone has so much trouble processing the color of my jeans, but the important thing is that it's pretty accurately capturing the color of the MacNeils in this light. Of course, the color really changes based on the type of light they're in. Sometimes more gray. Sometimes slightly blue. Sometimes a little closer to brown. I never know what to expect, other than comfort. Love these shoes. Hoping the style makes a comeback at one of the future trunk shows.

Once again used shoes as directed, walking around with them on, and walked around for hours wearing brogue suede Strands with partial Poron insoles and Danite soles.

For fans of "A-E In The Wild" pictures, on the porch of an abandoned ice cream shop on Hillhurst Avenue and showing belts (in this case brown alligator) and shoes (in this case brogue suede) don't have to match.

For fans of food pictures in shoe threads, a Peach Bellini, a piece of lemon cake, and me at the Alcove Cafe on Hillhurst Avenue.

For fans of pictures of people doing Shakespeare impersonations while wearing A-E shoes in shoe threads, doing my impersonation of Shakespeare on the Shakespeare Bridge in the Franklin Hills while wearing brogue suede Strands.

Extra Added Attraction: Where I walked to.

Walked to the corner of St. George and Lyric in Franklin Hills, the place where Mickey Mouse was born.

For those wondering where my walk began, it began (and ended) at the Vermont/Sunset Metro Red Line subway station, where I also walked up and down the stairs.

Sometimes I resist he temptation to walk up and down every stairway I see. Did not walk up and down this stairway in Franklin Hills.

From time to time unicorns are mentioned in this thread. Saw a unicorn and a unirabbit on a relay box on Prospect Avenue in East Hollywood. Think this may be the first (and possibly last) mention of a unirabbit in this thread.

Yes, have been wearing yellow OCBD shirts a lot recently. For some reason people now, unlike people in the sixties, have stopped wearing yellow shirts, so am trying to bring back yellow shirts.

Back in their hey day I had a yellow Lands End Hyde Park OCBD in yellow that was built like a tank. I loved that shirt as well as an ecru one. Recently when Brooks Brothers was blowing out their MiUSA OCBD’s the closest I could get was white in a yellow check. I ended up getting two. From a distance it sort of resolves to a yellow. I have my eye on one from Mercer & Sons but might need to take out a small loan.
The old school Hyde Parks from Lands End were, for my money, as good as any dress shirt on the market. They were beautiful, and rugged, and went great with suits, back when I wore suits every day. I would love to find its equivalent today, but I’m not sure one exists.

Eccru and yellow are underrated colors and rare!

Heard great things about Mercer & Sons and seriously considered them until I went with the BB MTM program.... I should still get at least one Mercer shirt (custom sizing) just to say I have one :)

I forgot to mention....
I redyed a belt in preparation of this day.
What do you think of this as a casual pairing?

That looks awesome! Great boots and nice dye job to pair with the boots.

Cross posting here from the AE B/S/T thread...

Gents, selling my beloved pairs of Park Avenue, both in brown and burgundy shell. Absolutely gorgeous shades on both of them, especially the brown shell pair (rare) with the Hershey's chocolate shade, much like Alden's famed cigar shell.

Side 11D, neither has really been worn very much and mostly on office carpet and to and from my car. A great time to pick up some awesome shoes! Original boxes are included.

Please PM me to discuss.

I only bought two. The two that seem to have a lot of interest.

For some color comparisons.
First of all, the red is awesome!
67980005-0961-4AA5-B022-75920FB5DDCB.jpeg
Garnet shell, cherry suede, crimson red.

Tan, bone (or sand) suede, new bone.

The leather is very soft, very much like the old Independence line. Some may have issue with it appearing “loose.”

Wow! That crimson red really makes a statement!

What does that bring you up to now? 26 different Strand variations?

Ashley suckered me into a pair of “black cherry shell Cambridges” with the defect of “maybe slightly raised pinking? I don’t really know” with the 25%+10% off sale. How could I resist for $269?

Does today's deal include what will be the Anniversary Sale's prices starting tomorrow, with 10% off in addition to that?
