OK. Just heard back.
Strandmoks are UNLINED. They ARE a gray with blueish undertones but way less blue than denim. Here they are side by side (slate is the darker pair):

So its basically a medium gray with a blue undertone. I love the natural welt and the chestnut sole.
Guys how would you pair these? The khakis work well with them. I think a light wash denim would work too. Not sure about dark denim jeans. Tempting

I definitely think dark denim would go! To be fair, I think it goes with most things though.

Putting the wings into Wingtip Wednesday, Horween English Tan Dublin Leather McGillicuddys and Amtrak carpeting.

For fans of watch pictures in shoe threads, checking a Hamilton 992B Railway Special pocket watch to make sure Amtrak Train 768, a southbound Pacific Serfliner, departs on time. (It did.)

For fans of "A-E In The Wild" pictures, once again waving at the San Juan Capistrano YouTube depot cam shortly after Train 768 arrived. Always wave my hand back and forth over my head, the hand signal for "Apply Brakes".

For fans of food pictures in shoe threads, does Champagne count as food? Went to The Tea House On Los Rios in San Juan Capistrano again today.

For those who don't think Champagne counts as food, had Trifle (the kind with lots of alcohol in it) for dessert. When you are on the train you can do things like this.

Blew the candle out before it set the alcohol on fire.

Thought I'd share this eBay find. This is a pair of brown shell Higgins Mill. The listing said the soles were redone by Brian the Bootmaker with the Vibram mini ripple sole. Here's a video of Brian resoling a pair of Alden Indy boots with this sole. While the looks may be up for debate, I really like them. I already had a pair of brown CXL Higgins. The sole gives me something different and finding them on eBay let me get them for FAR less than if I had bought and modified these myself.

Indy color 8 on commando for me and bourbon shell Higgins Mill on leather for @aero25.

Hopefully will meet some more people who have too many shoes in the closet like me!

Long work day today which led right into me driving my 75-year-old dad to get his first COVID shot and ended with me shame-eating some leftover Popeye's chicken tenders from Lil Donkey's dinner a couple of nights ago.
