Navy. Hear me out: there are TONS of burgundy options. And realistically, you can get a burgundy shell boot from lots of other makers. Navy shell, not so much.
I think his concern is that the boots he posted are navy shell Landons, so basically sole and shaft would be the only variance.

How do we feel about Topys on boots? I have Higgins in cordovan on a single leather sole. I actually really like how they feel on foot but I live in the Chicago area so our weather isn’t the greatest.

is there any potential downside to getting a topy added?

I’m leaning towards just wearing and enjoying them as is until needing a resole to change, but there is no shortage of cobbles in the area.

I live in Singapore and it rains here throughout the year, of course short bursts but still all round the year. All my leather-soled shoes have Vibram topys. None of my boots are leather sole and I avoid leather soles on boots.

I would not hesitate to get a topy on those.
